Today, we continue our tradition of gratitude – our gratitude to Ukraine’s exemplary and strong warriors, to our Heroes who have done the most and shown the greatest courage in defending Ukraine, our land, and our positions.
Gratitude is what should accompany respect. It must be an integral part of a normal state, a normal society, and normal people. This is exactly the gratitude we demonstrate when we fulfill our promise to provide a home for every Hero. And may the apartments we are providing today be symbols of the fact that Ukraine is truly grateful – that Ukraine is a state that honors its heroes, cares for its heroes, and knows that without the courage of Ukrainian warriors, there simply would be no Ukrainian state.
Thank you. We are proud of you. And we remember everyone who gave their life so that Ukraine could exist.

There is no word to describe Russian murderers who fired a combat drone at a residential house in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv region, killing three toddlers, two two-year old boys and a one-year old girl, along with their 24 year-old father. Only an injured pregnant mom was left alive with burns.
Russian is a terrorist state and its acts of terror cannot go unpunished. Every Russian criminal responsible for this and other atrocities must face justice. All international efforts aimed at tangible accountability must be sped up.
Other Russian strikes all across Ukraine targeted civilian infrastructure, energy objects, and residential areas. Each such strike discredits diplomatic efforts. We urge our partners to increase pressure on Moscow to end the war.

We will remember this winter.
When an entire nation froze in the cold right on the border with the European Union, fought against the Russian army's advance, but did not give up.
When Ukrainians lit candles in cold apartments, repaired destroyed power stations, rescued people and animals from under rubble, held their ground in frozen trenches, and, despite everything, organized mass dances in the winter’s streets as a kind of coping strategy.
Because the Russians came to take everything from us — our land, our freedom, our joy, our children's future. And we decided not to give them anything.

His helmet bears portraits of our athletes who were killed by Russia. Figure skater Dmytro Sharpar, who was killed in combat near Bakhmut; Yevhen Malyshev, a 19-year-old biathlete killed by the occupiers near Kharkiv; and other Ukrainian athletes whose lives were taken by Russia’s war.
I thank the flag bearer of our national team at the Winter Olympics, Vladyslav Heraskevych, for reminding the world of the price of our struggle.
This truth cannot be inconvenient, inappropriate, or called a “political demonstration at a sporting event.” It is a reminder to the entire world of what modern Russia is.
And this is what reminds everyone of the global role of sport and the historic mission of the Olympic movement itself – it is all about peace and for the sake of life. Ukraine remains faithful to this. Russia proves the opposite.
