Europe faces a difficult winter. We must ensure reliable fuel supplies for our citizens, businesses, & defense. And we must ensure that these supplies are affordable. Today we started our dialogue with European refineries. Looking at short-term & long-term. Press point ↓

Hello Zurich
We’re creating a 4D living model of the real world. From indoor spaces to entire cities, Moving Atoms is turning the physical world into accurate, high-resolution 3D models. Each object is separated, physics tuned and has its own Mesh. This was Created by the Moving Atoms Engine. Export files include: Isaac Sim, Newton, IFC, Revit , USD.

Nothing forces us to live like this but 0 ambition spending money on the wrong things cultural suicide
What a melancholy comparison. It’s time, lavishly & liberally, to replant street trees, widen pavements, rip out ugly lights & reclaim streets from their highways officer overlords Dickens Street, Toxteth, 1911 vs 2023 📸 via the great @keithjones84 who is very worth following

read this tweet, read the reactions. There is something rotten in the state of [the World].
Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory. Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil. Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving. We will remain by your side for the years to come. Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade. A rules-based global order. And strong ambitions for our climate.

Remotion recaps
The most underrated thing you can do with Claude Code right now: Remotion Recaps It's been super useful asking Claude to turn its own output into a 2-minute video. I've been doing this for plans, audits, research, call breakdowns, etc. Works especially well if you hate reading long text output. An exercise you can do right now: Open Claude Code. Point it at any doc, transcript, article, or link. Then paste this: "Read [link or file]. Turn it into a 90-second to 2-minute Remotion video that explains the core ideas to me, so I don't have to read the whole thing. - Write the script first: 6-10 scenes, 2-5 short lines each. - One idea per scene: big headline, a few labeled cards, a progress bar so I know where we are. - Add a voiceover and time each scene to its audio. - Render the video as a shareable Claude artifact so I can share it with my team if needed." Just did this with a 20+ page build plan doc for a project I'm working on. 64 sections became 9 scenes and 2 minutes of video. The default voice it uses is Mac voice which sounds super robotic. If you want a better voice ask Claude to use Treg to find a higher quality voice (will cost ~$0.05 or less). This is really useful for making Claude SHOW you its work in a visual format.

Much of Europe is swimming in these waters, and it’s very hard or impossible to leave them again

Roche this week: "Germany is uninvestable" nzz.ch/wirtschaft/roche-setz… we'll see much more of this till we see the opposite
Good Morning from Germany, where one of Europe’s biggest landlords calls the country “uninvestable.” Heimstaden is withholding fresh capital over Berlin’s expropriation plans. It owns 20,000 apartments in the city worth ~€5bn and estimates a potential €1bn loss. Its hybrid bond has plunged from ~98 cents in August to 82.5. The irony: a policy meant to tackle the housing shortage risks driving away investment without building a single new home. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

the design space is wide open
⚽️ I’m having WAY too much fun with this game on the iPhone Duo 😂 This is how you take advantage of a foldable! 🥅 The goalie is on the vertical screen ⚽️ You kick the ball using the bottom screen 📱 The entire form factor becomes part of the game! It genuinely feels like we’re back in the Wild West of apps, when developers made fun, creative experiences just for the sake of having FUN. We need more of this!! 🔥

most animated headers probably counterintuitively kill conversion, but if you can get a core message across, maybe it'll do wonders
I absolutely love that the @AppStore allows us to have animated headers!

While I was writing this, my AI assistant got cut off by a bio safety filter. It was summarizing my own team's notes on the model we released today 😅 Frontier labs are moving fast into biology but the scientists and clinicians who'd get the most out of these models are unfortunately the ones running into walls like this one (and every day). So we partnered with TIGEM (Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine), Naple "Federico II" University and Zhongguancun Academy to train Carbon-X. Carbon-X is an open 14B model that reads raw DNA and talks about it in plain English. On our DNA benchmarks it scores 67%, vs 61% for Claude Opus 5.5 and 50% for Gemini 4 Argon, and its within a point of GPT-6.1 Sol at about 1000x lower cost. We kept human and animal viruses out of the training data. The weights are open and the model runs on hardware accessible to academia (a laptop). One example from the blog: give frontier models an 8kb stretch of the NF1 gene with a mutation at a splice site. Most of them call it benign, refuse, or run out of tokens. Carbon-X says pathogenic, because the mutation breaks the splice site. This century, biology may be where AI matters most. We want to get there with the safety work done in the open and every lab in the world able to build on it. Go try it, and tell us what you find. Model: huggingface.co/HuggingFaceBi…

the visuals of this day would have just been epic. These high tech beautiful ships, the flags flying, the drums beating to quarters, two columns of sail slowly closing in on that huge crescent of French and Spanish ships. Then smoke and thunder for hours.
Happy Trafalgar Day Never mind maneuvers Go straight at ‘em

Fighting went on until roughly 4:30–5pm, so about four to five hours of combat. Nelson was hit around 1:15pm and died around 4:30pm, just as the battle was being won.

Alchemists were right
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
