Do you want to see an #MSX booting MSX-DOS from a DVD? 📀 A world first?
Still need to polish all the messages, but it is reading a DVD in FAT format. Next to implement is ISO9660 format. What do you think?
The video shows it loading SCREEN 12 pics from BASIC, quite fast in my opinion.🎉

This is a dream come true!
I’d always wanted to connect a #MiniDisc to an #MSX as a data drive. I think MiniDisc 💽 is one of the coolest media ever.
I contacted @xavirompe in 2023 about his Rookie Drive, and he explained to me that CDs and MiniDiscs have 2K sectors and Nextor won't read them.
But now, with AI, some dreams can become reality: #Claude has created a driver to read, write, and format Hi-MD on the MSX, and it works like a charm!!
This might be the first time in history that a MiniDisc has been connected to an MSX!
Combining the two coolest things in the world 😎 MSX + MiniDisc!
You can watch a video of it loading a photo gallery in the next post⬇️
ALT The very first data read from the MiniDisc. It shows where the disc was formatted, the bytes per sector, and the sectors per clusters
ALT Improved speed after some improvements. Read + Write speed: 12.0KB/s. Read speed: 23.1KB/s
ALT One beautiful 1GB Hi-MD. Blue color.

OCM-PLD's 20th anniversary is on Dec. 16, 2026.
Last year, I planned to end 1st Gen support with OCM-PLD v3.9.2, but too many issues remain unresolved.
That is why I am planning one final special update for you all: OCM-PLD v3.9.3, a way to celebrate these 20 years together.
