Very annoyed at the people discouraging donating directly to individuals and families. Organizations aren’t being able to operate properly or provide for everyone.
And maybe an organization will be able to feed 100,000 people so yes, DO donate to them, but ALSO to the individuals who need surgeries and medication that the org won’t cover.
The org will feed them perhaps but the org won’t provide the money for rent to keep them sheltered, or the blankets to keep them warm.
So many people and families fall through the cracks and that’s what their individual campaigns are for. Of course it’s an imperfect system and of course it’s not equitable and of course it’s not sustainable, and yet it’s the only option.
So for God’s sake don’t discourage people from donating to individual campaigns.
Yes, do emphasize other actions as well, but don’t make things more difficult for the families and those trying to keep them alive.

I keep seeing this sentiment from so called “pro Palestinians” how are those in Gaza supposed to survive without fundraisers? There is no legitimate alternative. Orgs don’t help with rent, bills, university debt, etc. let alone food for some families in areas aid doesn’t reach!

This is one of the most disgusting scenes I have seen in a while.
A humble Muslim delivery man shows up to do work at this Hindu woman's house in India. His azan app goes off at the prayer time. She proceeds to deliver him a humiliating lecture ON VIDEO and posts it to the whole world.
She yells at him that it's her Hindu festival today and that his azan went off, as if he did it on purpose. The service sector man hangs his head, apologizes repeatedly, and she harangues him ON VIDEO like a vile breed of creature unknown to humanity - then she yells at him "Stop this dominance!"
She yells at him for having consumed tobacco before arrival (what, now you're going to discipline every delivery guy for his personal habits??) She claims that the azan is all about dominance: when he starts to protest, she says "I'm a Kashmiri Pandit, I know Urdu, I know all about this."
This kind of genocidally hateful person apparently now constitutes a majority of India and if I were to say what should happen to her, I would be banned. This video is harassment and bullying and should be taken down. May God comfort your heart, Khalid, we stand with you. This is absolutely wrong and you do not deserve any of this garbage.

All of these families need help and almost all of them are exclusively relying on me (with a few of them who have others they can also turn to)
I’m severely burned out, and it’s difficult to consistently do individual tweets, I can only do those periodically when I have a sudden spurt of energy. Because I’m simultaneously messaging the families as well, getting crypto, doing crypto transfers, trying to get in touch with donors, etc.
Everyone doing this work knows how difficult it is and yet how necessary it is too.
Those who aren’t actively running campaigns and actively communicating with families, could you help by RTing? Those who have money to spare, could you donate?
