AIKS President Ashok Dhawale, General Secretary Vijoo Krishnan, Joint Secretary Ajit Nawale, State President Yashwant Zade, State Secretary Umesh Deshmukh, State Vice President Vinod Nikole, MLA, and others are leading the rally. Madhya Pradesh: AARM and CPI(M) Extend Solidarity with the Struggle of Adivasis and Villagers in Panna and Chhatarpur
Over 50,000 people, 60% of them Adivasis, face displacement in Panna and Chhatarpur districts due to multiple dam projects and the Ken-Betwa River Link Project, being implemented in flagrant violation of the Forest Rights Act and the LARR Act, 2013. AARM and CPI(M) leaders Brinda Karat, Dulichand Meena, Jaswinder Singh and Ram Narayan Kuraria visited several villages over two days to express solidarity with the struggle led by Jai Kisan Sangathan.
The delegation was joined by Amit Bhatnagar, leader of the struggle, who recently ended his 28-day hunger strike and faces several false cases. They visited 24-year-old Dalit woman leader Divya Ahirwar in Panna jail, who has been arrested on the false charge of attempt to murder. The delegation addressed the residents of Bahnanri Tapariyan in the Ajaygarh region, where families affected by the Majhgawan and Runjh projects are continuing the Chita (Funeral Pyre) Andolan through symbolic demonstrations involving funeral pyres and nooses around their necks, as well as Jal Satyagraha. The slogan of the movement is “Nyay do ya Maar do”. Rising water levels are threatening their homes and farmland, while eligible families have been excluded from compensation lists and face delays in resettlement.
Scripted! Instead of SOP it’s in accordance with SOAP opera. Same Baruipur script in this episode too. Some small details needed. Btw number of rape incidents in WB are increasing in competition with UP.

Stand-up comedian Masoom Rajwani and several others were detained by Mumbai Police for participating in a peaceful candlelight vigil in memory of Sahil Wakode, a Dalit student who died by suicide at IIT Bombay over alleged caste discrimination.
This is quite a revelation! I somehow feel after Modi is voted out of power we could see one of the richest harvests of books written by retired judges, bureaucrats, police officials, military officers, election commissioners, top RBI officials, BJP's own dissenting leaders revealing all about 15 years of NDA under Modi. It will certainly be an avalanche of relevations since so much has been brushed under the carpet. Some of it already happening gradually. General Naravane book was one such.

कहीं शोला, कहीं नारा, कहीं पत्थर बनकर

Today, @TheStatesmanLtd - the newspaper of my hometown, Kolkata - published a story that uses @FoxNews to allude to the idea that I am somehow involved in the protests in France (thestatesman.com/world/expla…)
The journalist who wrote the story - @kamnaAKrish - did not bother to contact me for the story, but only cited Fox, hardly a believable source.
The story is ugly and dangerous, fuelling fires that turn against me and my friends who are interested in the realisation of social justice globally.
What is particularly annoying for me is that I began my journalism career as one of Desmond Doig's Junior Statesman reporters. That's me in the 1970s with my JS badge proudly on my shirt. Too bad that The Statesman now lives in the gutter and has forgotten the valiant editorial work of S. Nihal Singh (who won the International Editor of the Year Award in 1978 for his opposition to The Emergency).
