Worst thing a Thumbnail Designer can do is treat a Thumbnail just like a design, an art. Thumbnail is the shop window of a channel. If the viewer doesn't understand what it sells, they will scroll away. And if wins their attention it needs to sell the feeling of need, ''need to watch to understand'' , ''need to watch because I don't wanna miss out''

Your title and thumbnail should NOT say the same thing. If the title says: “How I Lost $100,000 Trading” Your thumbnail doesn't need: “I LOST $100K” That's repetition. Instead, the thumbnail should visually add another layer to the story.

The thumbnail shouldn't repeat the title. It should make the viewer think: “Wait… what happened?” That small gap between what I know and what I want to know is where curiosity lives.
