Some interesting stuff in the @webflow presentation. I have a lot of questions.
But it's so weird/alienating to barely show anything related to building a website 馃槄
馃 interesting
Replying to @framer
@framer and @webflow are great tools, but they are stuck. As much as @rauchg, we don鈥檛 believe in NO-code but in YES-code.
They were built for a click click click era that鈥檚 fading away.
Yes, traditional website builders can build beautiful websites, but that鈥檚 table stakes now, and they can鈥檛 do it at the speed of AI. Prompting is the way to go. Nobody wants to start with a template anymore with lorem ipsum content.
And when it comes to Framer and Webflow, you do not own anything, because they lock you into their system. You can not use your favorite frontend framework (Next.js, Tanstack, Astro, Nuxt.js, etc.), you can not use your coding agents, you can not use your workflows, and you can not own the code (because it does not even exist).
That鈥檚 why, despite their brand and history, neither Framer nor Webflow became (or will) the face of vibe coding.
We interviewed tens of startups recently. They are running away from these tools. @galluzzo_julian will only confirm.
Instead, they build using Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or any vibe coding tool. They store content in files. They create their own SEO and content skills/agents.
No more click click click updates.
This approach is extremely powerful. It also comes with some limitations. In two months from now, we will have solved all of them. Stay tuned.
Feels like we鈥檙e in a strange limbo period for web design/dev tools.
AI has obviously changed the game. Using a builder ui as the primary building method now feels archaic.
WordPress is on the slow inevitable decline.
Whilst Webflow is still proving lucrative for my business personally...it's almost completely lost the community it prided itself on.
Framer just feels OBSESSED with template creation over anything else. The market share for Framer is smaller than I thought. It's not even beating Weebly!
Will be interesting to see where things go over the next few years.

Fuck fireworks. Banal noise. Annoying and pointless and terrifies animals. Cunts.
It's been an insanely busy year making Webflow websites. The best so far.
There's still no other tool I'd rather be using 馃挭
Surely it's time that unbinding CMS collections or removing breakpoints in @webflow was a native feature?
It's painful not being able to easily do this at the moment.
LinkedIn is not a platform I enjoy.
I know I should be more active on there but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it.
Had a little play with @get_mocha today and it really does feel like magic that we can get something like this created so quickly.
I'm surprised this wasn't being saved to announce at Webflow conf.
Does make you wonder what's going to be announced in September 馃憖
Is anyone using Framer on a regular basis for client work?
On X, the content I see is almost always related to template sales or concept work.
Genuinely interested if agencies/freelancers use it for real world projects larger than a single landing page.
I hope Webflow pulls something special out the bag this year at Webflowconf.
It'll be interesting to see what level of ambition is still in the tank.
I know what I want to see 馃
It's definitely happening.
I just spotted a well known WordPress specific agency is also offering Webflow as an option now.
Webflow's been around for over 10 years, it's being trusted by bigger and bigger players.
Almost every new business site I see is on Webflow. Every site inspiration site directory feels 40% Webflow.
Times are changing and agencies are diversifying their offerings.
Choice is good 馃挭
