Democracy only works when we show up and participate. Getting to exercise one of our most fundamental rights, the right for our voice to be heard, alongside family and friends was special. Voting is about having a say in the future of our communities, the opportunities available to our children, and the kind of state we want to leave behind for the next generation. Early vote ends Friday October 30th and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd. Make your plan to vote!

America is a melting pot. And sometimes it can be a delicious one. Nevada Lt. Gov. nominee Sandra Jauregui makes albóndigas with her father and sister — and talks about making sure the American Dream is still attainable so everyone can afford a seat at the table.

With a little over a week remaining before the end of my 10 years of service in the Nevada Legislature, I’ve had some time to reflect. I’m certainly proud of all that we have accomplished for the state over the past decade. We’ve come a long way. But I’m most proud to have worked alongside so many amazing public servants. This includes fellow elected officials, many of whom I had the pleasure of recruiting and mentoring. But this also includes legislative and campaign staff, state and local government employees, and members of the private and non-profit sector. Almost without fail, the people doing this work come to it with good intentions, humble hearts, and a passion for service. You can’t ask for more than that. No one accomplishes anything entirely on their own. I am no exception. The credit for any successes I have enjoyed rightly belong to many. I am incredibly grateful for each of you who has traveled this road with me, both on the campaign and official side. I could not have done it without you. Thank you for gifting me the opportunity to serve and for believing in our mission. Being Speaker is truly the pinnacle of service in the Nevada Assembly. But it is not what I treasure most when I think about my time in the Legislature. Instead, it is the relationships formed, the memories made and the challenges overcome because of the strength of those relationships, and the way in which the Assembly (and its members) conducted itself while I had the honor to lead, bolstered by a profoundly talented and dedicated leadership team. We did our best to lead and serve with kindness, compassion, and empathy. While the Assembly is losing quite a bit of legislative experience this cycle, I am confident in the future of the Nevada Legislature. New leadership is ready to step up to face the challenges of today and tomorrow. And great people are running for the state legislature every cycle, despite the challenges and sacrifices. Nevada is in good hands and her future is bright. I am an unabashed believer in our country’s state legislative institutions because they are the bodies doing the policy work in this country and they have shown themselves to be incredibly resilient over the past 250 years. I recently had an opportunity to reflect on state legislative institutions and my role in strengthening them, in Athens, Greece, the birthplace of Democracy. Watch the video to hear my thoughts and the challenge I issue to each of you. Serving the people in the Legislature has been an honor and a privilege. While this is goodbye for now, I hope our paths cross again in the future and that we are both changed for the better as a result. Godspeed and God bless each and every one of you.

My heart is full after an incredible evening surrounded by so many community leaders who share a vision for a stronger, more affordable Nevada! A huge thank you to our wonderful host, @mayorschieve Senator @thisisangietaylor @ttbash @susanfisher7349 , Alison Gauldin, Gretchen Bietz, @jenncrowe and the FABULOUS @abbijayne for being a host and hosting our event at the @theabbiagency … Thank you all for bringing everyone together and making this evening so special. And to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us, share their stories, and talk about the future of our state—THANK YOU! Everywhere I go, I’m reminded that Nevadans want the same thing: a government that listens, works for them, and creates opportunities for every family to thrive. I’m ready fight like hell for that Nevada

I had the opportunity to tour REMSA in Northern Nevada and learn more about the critical role they play in keeping Nevada families safe. From emergency medical response to lifesaving care, these incredible first responders show up for Nevadans when they need them most. Thank you REMSA for the tour!

We see it everywhere: Voters don't care about your party. They care about what you can do for their families. Nevada Lt. Gov. nominee Sandra Jauregui knows this, and Democrats should take note.

I’m incredibly grateful to Vice President Kamala Harris for her support and for believing in what we’re building here in Nevada. I’ve spent my career fighting for working people, taking on powerful interests, and working to make life more affordable for the families who call Nevada home. This campaign is about carrying that work forward—lowering costs, creating good-paying jobs, protecting our freedoms, and making sure government is accountable to the people it serves. There’s a lot at stake for Nevada families, and I’m proud to have Vice President Harris standing with us as we fight for the future of our state.

Nevada Lt. Gov. nominee Sandra Jauregui has this to say when people ask her about “Latino issues”: “They want to talk about immigration. But that’s not the only thing [Latinos] care about! They are Nevada families and they want the same things that Nevada families want.”

I had the chance to tour Masterpiece Barber College and spend some time with owner Marcus Allen and the students learning their craft. Nevada needs more pathways where people can learn a trade, build a career, and eventually become business owners themselves. Thanks to Marcus and the entire Masterpiece team for having me!

I’m proud to have the support of the Reno American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO. Postal workers do the kind of work most of us probably don’t think about until we need them. They make sure a prescription gets delivered, a birthday card makes it to a grandkid, a small business can reach its customers, and a ballot gets where it needs to go.
