BREAKING: INFLATION SOARS WITH A RATE HIKE NOW ALMOST CERTAIN.
Calls to cut spending fell on deaf ears with Albanese. Inflation just jumped to 4.3%, a rate hike next week is now almost certain.
ABS figures show headline CPI up from 4.0% in August to 4.3% in the year to September.
Trimmed mean stuck at 3.6%. That’s well above the RBA’s 2-3% target.
Economists are calling it an “ugly number” that strengthens the case for another hike on Melbourne Cup Day.
Markets had already priced roughly two thirds odds of a move to 4.85%, the highest cash rate since the GFC.
After four hikes this year already, mortgage holders are staring down more pain.
The RBA has warned repeatedly that inflation is too high. Hauser said the numbers are still elevated and they’re watching the risks closely.
Progress has stalled.
Households keep getting hammered while Labor’s spending spree continues unchecked.
Albanese and Chalmers ignored the warnings.
Aussie families are the ones paying the price.

Australian Yarns and History
Some were still teenagers. Many had never faced combat. In 1942, they found themselves fighting for their lives on a muddy track through the mountains of Papua.
They were young Australians of the 39th Battalion, among the first troops sent to confront the Japanese advance towards Port Moresby.
Alongside soldiers of the Papuan Infantry Battalion, they faced an enemy with far greater combat experience.
The country itself made every movement difficult.
Steep mountain climbs. Thick jungle. Torrential rain. Mud that turned carrying supplies or evacuating a wounded mate into an exhausting ordeal.
Food and ammunition had to reach men fighting far beyond any road. Illness weakened soldiers already worn down by battle.
The Australians were forced back through a series of desperate engagements. They fought, withdrew and prepared to fight again.
At Isurava, exhausted men of the 39th were joined by reinforcements from the 2/14th Battalion. Together, they faced another fierce Japanese assault.
Every delay mattered. It gave more Australian troops time to reach the fighting.
And through that same punishing country came Papuan carriers, bringing supplies forward and helping carry wounded men out.
Their strength and care helped soldiers survive journeys they could never have completed alone. Any telling of Kokoda belongs to them too.
The campaign continued for months. Eventually, the Japanese advance was halted, and Australian troops pushed back across the mountains. Kokoda was retaken on 2 November 1942.
Decades later, the film Kokoda brought a dramatised version of the soldiers’ experiences to the screen.
But behind the film were real young men who had left families, jobs and familiar streets for a place where even the next ridge could feel impossibly far away.
Some made it home. Others never did.
Before Kokoda became a legend, it was young men trying to stay alive and keep the person beside them alive too.

I have come to the conclusion that @AustralianLabor hates Australians & wants to change this country forever. Not content to cripple us economically, it is importing ISIS followers & people from Gaza ( not security checked) who could be a threat to our national security & personal safety. All for Muslim votes. Can anyone tell me why @Tony_Burke hasn’t instructed Home Affairs to do everything it can to keep the known terrorist El Matari in jail. This piece of shxt was planning to establish an ISIS stronghold in the Blue Mountains & blow up St Mary’s Cathedral. He will be free to walk among us this weekend & we are expected to cop it. The Labor “whatever it takes” mantra to stay in power is what drives them. Ironic to think that THAT means your life could be taken by one of these terrorist bastards.

The spinelessness of this Labor government is a serious threat to national security.

Today's stronger-than-expected inflation figures confirm the pain that households are already feeling: the cost of everything just keeps going up under Labor.
In September, inflation was up to 4.3% from 4%, well above the RBA's target of 2.5%.
Labor will blame the Middle East crisis, but it's clear this inflation is homegrown: underlying inflation is up to 3.6% from 3.5%, services inflation is up to 4.1% from 3.7%, and non-tradeables inflation remains high at 4.5%.
Labor's out-of-control spending is driving inflation higher.
If the Reserve Bank raises rates for the 17th time under Labor next week – with rates rising to the highest level since 2008 – this Government will only have itself to blame.
Not that long ago, the Treasurer said the worst of the inflation challenge was “well and truly behind us”.
Today, inflation is high and rising under his watch.
This is a Treasurer who has lost control of spending, lost control of inflation, and is raising taxes in his budget of broken promises.
Life isn’t easy under Albanese. A cost of living crisis, higher inflation, the largest decline in living standards in the developed world, and the highest interest rates in 15 years.
Australians are paying the price for a government that can't control spending, can't beat inflation, and can't get the economy moving.
The answer isn't more of Jim Chalmers’ excuses.
It's the Coalition’s plan to fix the economy and protect our way of life with lower taxes, cheaper power, less migration, and more homes.
He won't Albo has a whole pile of overseas trips lined up. @FarCanall
