I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model.
Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching.
We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards.
As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

Since launching in 2021, our Android Earthquake Alerts System has sent 1B+ alerts. Now we’re expanding the system from 98 to nearly 200 countries and regions.
Proud how this technology can help in moments that really matter. As one example, when the devastating earthquakes hit Venezuela this year, millions of people outside the epicenter got alerts and could take cover before the shaking began.

💻Really excited to see how developers use the new Terminal app on their Googlebook!
While this initial preview is aimed at supporting agentic development, the team is looking at expanding the Terminal's capabilities with features like Linux GUI app support in the app launcher & GPU/NPU hardware acceleration!
I'm especially excited for GPU/NPU acceleration. I think that'll unlock some fun capabilities 👀

📣Important update on Better Together setup & Samsung Galaxy rollout on Googlebook
Thanks for the feedback since Googlebook launched!
Here is what’s rolling out starting today and how you can resolve some of the most common setup snags:
- Smoother first-time setup: A Google Play services update rolling out over the next few days reduces the steps needed to set up Cross-devices services. The update will also help improve certain timing issues where the setup QR code stays on the screen after completing phone setup.
- Samsung Galaxy phone support: Our Better Together features (Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access, and Notification Sync) are arriving on Samsung phones running One UI 9.0 (Android 17).
These updates will roll out automatically over the next few days as Google Play updates and background service updates (fastest when connected to Wi-Fi and charging).
