I'm not one to comment on btc or any crypto asset economic viability but I would argue it already has changed the world. But we have to go back to where it all started and why. Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin whitepaper on October 31, 2008 just six weeks after the collapse of Lehman Brothers sent shockwaves through the global banking system. Bitcoin went from being dismissed as "monopoly money" by traditional finance to being fully institutionalized - sounds like a victory to me. The goals of the whitepaper were to solve double spending without middlemen, eliminate counterparty risk, establish monetary scarcity, enable peer-to-peer global micro-transactions, and create a self-sustaining game-theoretic system. Well, I think we've drifted a bit there but not all in vain. But why does someone have to HOLD bitcoin to BELIEVE or SEE it's value? Welcome to game-theory... just loud enough to shout the regulars are coming out... What keeps me cautiously optimistic is all the builders building on bitcoin. Lots of potential beyond store of value... exactly what, not quite sure yet.. but innovation stops as soon as we lablel what something is and stop considering what it could be. I would argue the viral nature of Bitcoin is that we have the power and now we won't forget it.
A brutal year for Bitcoin is just getting started. Give me three minutes to explain why you should dump it now. Outflows from ETFs are signal and will continue. We will test the 57k low again in the next 12 months. Why? Because there are far too many dynamic places to put your money that are creating MUCH more value. Why put your resources into a dead network that offers nothing beyond a store of value? What's the point of place the BTC be if Bitcoin's Ponzi-scheme nature has gone away!?! The viral nature of bitcoin was it's power... if you didn't own you were MOCKED! Now? Completely reasonable, heck, SMARTER, to ignore bitcoin and place other bets! No one is trying to convince people to buy Bitcoin anymore... the memes and NFTs are gone. No one is saying $ BTC can change the world, because it won't โ€” and BECAUSE AI HAS! Just sell and shift from Bitcoin to Super Intelligence because one provides little to no value, and the other provides unlimited upside for humanity. This should be obvious to everyone right now. Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again.

The more resistance I meet the more determined and unforgetable this all gets.

it's a weird experience when you aren't necessarily glad your intuition keeps getting proven right.

๐Ÿšจ THE FIRST AI BUBBLE HAS BURST. China's STAR50 index, which tracks the country's biggest AI and chip companies, has crashed 40% in less than four months. That has wiped out about $480 billion in market value. The damage has spread across the whole market. China's main CSI 300 index is now in a bear market, down 20% from its June high, and Chinese stocks have lost $3.5 trillion in total value since their May peak. China's two listed AI model companies, MiniMax and Zhipu, have lost a combined $150 billion from their highs. Robot maker Unitree crashed 50% since its August listing, and optical parts makers Zhongji Innolight and Eoptolink are down about 60%. The warning signs were already there. At the peak, the STAR50 traded at almost 250 times earnings. AI stocks made up 42% of China's entire stock market and 57% of all trading, mostly driven by retail investors. Now look at the US. AI-linked stocks make up 49% of the S&P 500's value, according to JPMorgan. That's even higher than China's 42% before its crash. The S&P 500's Shiller P/E ratio is above 40, the second highest in over 150 years. The only time it was higher was right before the dot-com crash. Margin debt, the money investors borrow to buy stocks, has hit a record $1.5 trillion. And Anthropic just filed for an IPO that could value it at $2 trillion, after losing $80.7 billion in the first half of this year. The US is now flashing the same warning signs China did before its AI stocks crashed.
