MARAMING PILIPINO TUMATABA, AYON SA DOH NEWS ALERT: Four in ten of Filipino adults are now overweight or obese, up from fewer than two in ten in 1993, and the trend is accelerating among children, with one in ten Filipino schoolchildren aged 5 to 10 now classified as overweight or obese. Health Undersecretary Dr. Albert Domingo, who supervises the National Nutrition Council (NNC), explained the numbers on @DZRHNews program "The Situation Report" on Wednesday, September 16, presenting data that shows the Philippines has been getting heavier every year for more than three decades. He said what concerns the NNC most is not the adult figure but the sharp rise among children aged 5 to 10, whose overweight and obesity rate climbed from around 5% in 2003 to 16% in 2025—more than tripling in two decades. | @sarchavez Livestream: facebook.com/share/v/1Mffq39… #TheSituationReport

Walang single point of responsibility," sabi ni Erice. #TheSituationReport

#TheSituationReport

METRO MANILA HINDI KAILANMAN NAGKAROON NG PLANO: ERICE NEWS ALERT: Metro Manila has never had a master plan—not 30 years ago, not 50 years ago, and not today—and that absence of vision is the root of every crisis the capital region now faces, Caloocan City 2nd District Rep. Edgar "Egay" Erice said Tuesday. When asked whether even a flood control master plan had ever been formally presented to Congress, Erice simply told @DZRHNews program "The Situation Report": "Wala eh." POLISIYA, EKONOMIYA HINDI NA NAPAG-UUSAPAN DAHIL SA AWAY MARCOS-DUTERTE, AYON KAY ERICE NEWS ALERT: The Marcos-Duterte political war has consumed all governance energy that should have gone to economic reform and investment promotion, and an economist has told Caloocan Rep. Edgar "Egay" Erice that the Philippines is now a country investors can afford to ignore. WEATHER MISMATCH CONTINUES: RAINS IN LUZON, HOT WEATHER IN MINDANAO MANILA — The southwest monsoon, or *habagat*, continues to affect most of Luzon and parts of the Visayas on Wednesday, while hot and humid conditions persist in Mindanao, PAGASA said. In its 5 a.m. weather advisory, PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the trough of Tropical Storm “Krovanh” — formerly “Pilandok” — located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility is bringing rains over Northern, Central, and Southern Luzon. Dominguez said much of the country is expected to experience rain throughout the day, particularly in the western sections of Luzon, including Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro. The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, and Aurora will also see rains due to Tropical Storm “Krovanh,” she added. Metro Manila, as well as other parts of Luzon, Antique, and Aklan, will have cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the *habagat*. Meanwhile, despite the rainy conditions in Luzon, Mindanao will continue to experience hot and humid weather, especially at noon and in the afternoon, Dominguez said. Forecasts from PAGASA’s Mindanao Regional Services Division for September 9 indicate that dangerous heat index levels will prevail. Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur may record a heat index of up to 44 degrees Celsius, while Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte, Surigao City in Surigao del Norte, and Butuan City in Agusan del Norte may reach up to 43 degrees Celsius. Zamboanga City, meanwhile, may experience a heat index of up to 42 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, PAGASA added. #TheSituationReport #WeatherAlert #Habagat #HeatIndex

PABOR KA BA SA LIMANG TAONG TERMINO NG BARANGAY, SK OFFICIALS? The House of Representatives approved a bill seeking to extend the term of barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials to five years from the current four-year term. A total of 211 lawmakers voted in favor of House Bill No. 10971, while 13 voted against and one abstained. The measure also seeks to postpone the barangay and SK elections (BSKE) to 2028, instead of holding them on November 2, 2026, which coincides with All Souls’ Day. Under the bill, a transitory provision states that the terms of incumbent officials will be deemed completed due to the two-year extension. Meanwhile, incumbent officials serving consecutive terms in the same position will be allowed to run again for the same post if the measure becomes law and the BSKE is held in November 2028. #TheSituationReport

#TheSituationReport

DOES METRO MANILA NEED A GOVERNOR? SPECIAL REPORT: Caloocan City 2nd District Rep. Edgar "Egay" Erice is pushing for an elected governor of Metro Manila, warning Monday that without unified leadership the capital region will continue to drown in floods and garbage while its contribution to national GDP declines. Metro Manila last had a unified executive under the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., who established the Metro Manila Commission in 1975 and appointed then-First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos as governor—a position abolished in 1990 and eventually replaced by the "toothless" MMDA. Erice told @DZRHNews program "The Situation Report" that the 1987 Constitution already authorizes Congress to create a Metropolitan Government under Article 10, Section 11—no charter change needed, only the political will to pass the law. | @sarchavez Full story below. #TheSituationReport #DZRHNews

'Yan yung nakikita kong problema," saad niya. #TheSituationReport
