I stand in strong solidarity with Mills College staff who are striking against the union-busting tactics of Northeastern University who recently acquired the campus. Our educators and students deserve better and this entire shady deal gets more and more suspicious. – at Oakland, CA

Mills is a 170-year-old institution and its sudden purchase and rezoning along with these union busting tactics are concerning. We need transparency and an investigation like the council unanimously voted to ask for a few months ago.

Thank you for my colleagues for voting to approve a resolution calling for an investigation into the closure of Mills College. Students & staff deserve transparency around this sudden sale & closure of one of the two remaining women's colleges in CA.1/

As a Mills Alumnae myself, I understand how important it is to have safe learning spaces for women and the LGBTQ+ community. The sudden end to this pivotal, women-serving safe space as women's rights are under attack is a tragedy. We need answers. 3/
