I'm not an engineer, but I rebuilt Savee — the app a million designers use
Friday, 5pm. I asked Claude how much work it would take to rebuild our iOS app fully native. It had been sitting on our someday list for years, waiting for a team we didn't have.
I stopped waiting and built it myself — a designer with Claude Code, one feature at a time. Claude wrote the Swift; I answered with the feedback designers give: two points left, lighter tint, that corner radius is wrong. Another round. And another.
33 days from the first prompt to live on the App Store. 1,078 prompts. Three releases in the first week.
Something changed for designers. The distance between an idea and shipping used to be a team, a budget, and a year. Now it's a conversation.
Savee 3.0 is out. It's the app I always wanted us to have 🚀

We designed and developed Paul Kalkbrenner’s new personal and professional website.
The site brings together his music, tour dates, and life beyond the stage in a clean digital experience, with motion and thought out interactions.
Explore the website: paulkalkbrenner.net/
New: FlowMenu 🧭
A glass navbar that expands into an animated menu — site map, socials, and an infinite image gallery.
Every colour, font, link + logo is editable in the panel.

More and more design studios are showcasing interactive tools in their case studies, and I’m here for it.
We went from static PDFs to motion, and now we’re letting people actually play with the brand. It’s no longer just a bunch of rules, the constraints are built into the brand itself.
Here’s an example from the recent Stack Overflow rebrand by @studiokoto, featuring various interactive elements.
The future of brand design looks good.

Forget trying to design everything in Figma. You can build your own design tools with AI.
Introducing Toolcraft - a starter kit and UI library for building beautiful creative apps. It's free and available for you today.
npx @pixel-point/toolcraft create
Use it to build apps to stylize images, create WebGL shaders, Three.js scenes, animations, photo editing tools, or whatever else needs a canvas and controls.
Toolcraft gives you the full architecture in a single solution. It comes with:
- plenty of UI components: sliders, pickers, timelines, curves, and more
- built-in canvas, export, and toolbar setup
- AI instructions to help the agent deliver a great result to you
With Toolcraft, you don’t need an extensive prompt. Just explain what type of visuals you want to build, attach references, and wait.
It’s been a game changer for our design process.
