Our mannequin has changed for the new semester and is now wearing a 1970s Droopy and Brown's maxi dress in devore velvet. Groovy!

Droopy and Brown's was founded by Angela Holmes in 1971 in York and her designs were beautifully made and flamboyant in style.

Day 1 of a midweek binge of exhibitions in London. Today, the fabulous ‘Colour is Mine’ exhibition at the William Morris Gallery, highlighting and showcasing the work of textile designer Althea McNish. I have been looking forward to this for weeks , and it didn’t disappoint!

The Comptometer Bureau at head office, 1966. Stores phoned in their sales figures each week (each day during Christmas peak) to be checked and entered here, for vital up-to-date sales info.The work may have got a bit monotonous, but the hair was fabulous!
