Plot twist. It is no such masterclass. Job hopping based on 30% bumps every two years absolutely destroys the financial incentives to stay “loyal”.
Microsoft's voluntary exit package is a masterclass in why job hopping is not always the smartest career move. The package offered for Indian employees : 3 months base pay plus 1 month for every year of service. Do the math. Someone who joined Microsoft 8 years ago is walking out with 11 months of salary in hand. That is nearly a full year of runway. Enough time to find the right next role without desperation. Enough capital to start something of your own. Enough breathing room to actually think. Someone who switched every 2 years chasing a 30% salary hike is walking out with 5 months. Maybe less. Yes the job hopper probably earned more along the way. But they also gave up something the market rarely values until a moment like this arrives. Tenure. Loyalty. The compound interest of staying. The Indian tech industry spent a decade glorifying switching. Every LinkedIn post was about how someone left Company A for a 40% hike at Company B. Nobody talked about what they left behind. Severance packages, vesting schedules, pension benefits, long service awards. These are not relics of a boring corporate life. They are the financial reward for the people who stayed when everyone else was leaving. The next time someone tells you that you are leaving money on the table by not switching, show them this Microsoft math. Stability has a price. It also has a payout.

This license is pretty funny. Nice package too (we meet their criteria and don't host on the uber expensive umbraco cloud).

Ripped out Radzen components from one project and Syncfusion from another. Just not needed. Also removed Ironpdf.

Kids kindergarten class did an exercise about what they want to be when they grow up. Not one single astronaut. Look out for some stats later if I have time to produce them.

ChatGPT refuses to assign genders based on names for some info I want. What kind of joke is this? "I don’t infer an individual’s gender from their name, including for informal analysis."

Did they spend $10M? No, who cares....
The WHITE HOUSE VIBE CODED their website 😂 And they didn't even hide it Go to fraud.gov and tell me that is not a raw opus 4.8 output Every experienced vibe coder I know, knows how to make the output look more natural. They could have easily used the "make it look less like AI" line - and didn't We have amateur vibe coders in the white house lol

OpenAI is tackling some of the biggest problems in physics. I suspect they hired a bunch of scientists who are believers in the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, and that philosophy is now impregnating the organization. Their new motto? “Shut up and reset.”

This along with the PHP news might be a good time to switch over to the light/dark side.
