We may look back at Zohran Mamdani’s election as the most important pivot point in American politics since 2016
U of Mich. Voter: "Seeing candidates like Abdul, like Mamdani in New York, who are all very personable, who bring respect back to politics, is the reason why the younger generation vibes with them so well."

“Voters are rejecting a minimum wage much like the Burbank 16 escalator, it never goes up.”
They’re already done calling the midterms, so Kornacki is just describing the differences between the three Burbank AMCs:

Over the last two years, many of the most powerful people in America-tech oligarchs, college presidents, media tycoons, leaders of big law firms + basically the entire pro-Israel Jewish establishment-capitulated to Trump's authoritarianism. They abandoned American democracy in its moment of maximum peril. They should never be allowed to forget it. They should wear that shame for the rest of their lives.

Takashi Yamazaki’s much-anticipated exercise in kaiju treachery delivers towering spectacle and culturally specific melodrama in a sequel to ‘Godzilla: Minus One’ that is both genuinely exciting and unquestionably somber. (Review for ‘Godzilla: Minus Zero’ in comments)

Not only did Disney pay $0 in federal income taxes last year due to Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” it got a $1.4 billion tax refund after making $12.4 billion in profits. “Corporation will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a Big Lie. It never trickles down. Ever.

My 15-year-old liked it a lot, but he had his fingers in his ears for much of the runtime during last week's IMAX presser. I had my hearing aids on "mute" and could still hear the movie.
GODZILLA MINUS ZERO is the loudest movie I’ve ever heard in my entire life. This will be a reference title for testing theater setups. Unbelievable film, and the definition of FILMED FOR IMAX.

Ben Wang as Ice Man is the first X-MEN casting to actually get me excited. He's has been terrific in a variety of films of the last few years (haven't seen SUNRISE ON THE REAPING yet, natch), so him getting an even higher profile plus presumably more money is "thing good."

And, like Inde Navarrette (and probably most of the X-MEN cast?), it's for what I presume is a supporting role which means he'll still have time to make other films and shows that aren't *just* MCU-specific.

He has condemned antisemitism a million times, just like Mamdani has. But imagine there was a Jewish politician and every day someone asked him to condemn pedophilia, or every day someone asked Obama to condemn the Crips and Bloods. Maybe you’re just racist?
This isn’t about Haley Stevens. It’s about the basic question she raised: Why won’t El-Sayed just condemn the Jew-hating ad? News flash: You can be for lower costs and stand up to hate at the same time. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/el…
