Elated to leap into the @APSphysics Fellowship class of 2023! With a bow and boundless thanks to those those who taught and inspired my generation, and a booming "ahoy!" to the next generation ready to set their own sails.
I'm honored to be elected among such an inspiring group of scientists to the class of 2023 @APSphysics Fellowship aps.org/programs/honors/fell…. Congratulations to my fellow quantum classmates: Adolfo del Campo, Sophia Economou, Jonathan Home, Jens Koch, Xiongfeng Ma, Graeme Smith!

Admin mantra for a content evening— Complications? … Complications are only the intricate wrinkles that life throws, so that circles aren’t so boring. (Inspired by a chat with @vatsanchakram .)

Down memory lane: a slide I made as a PhD student with Felix von Oppen. The topic: molecular electronics. One of its founding fathers: Mark Ratner, Northwestern Chemistry. Northwestern Physics: my academic home for 12 years now. So grateful for all that Felix von Oppen taught me.

In an experimental effort led by Jake Bryon and @nanonoodle, we show that care must be taken when modeling dynamics in the presence of time dependent flux. Simply taking flux -> flux(t) in your Hamiltonian is not enough!
My student Jake Bryon and Jens Koch's student Danny Weiss have just posted their work that experimentally verifies how to properly perform circuit quantization in the presence of time varying flux (arxiv.org/abs/2208.03738) Nice work team! @scqubit @d_k_weiss

Interested in low-frequency qubits like heavy fluxonium, and how to perform high-fidelity gates? Led by @d_k_weiss & joined by our Schuster friends @schusterqed, we have a new preprint on a galvanic-coupling scheme for fluxonia based on non-RWA physics. arxiv.org/abs/2207.03971

Very excited to be part of unitaryHACK for the first time! A huge thank you to @NathanShammah and the entire Unitary Fund team! (Happy to connect with people interested in joining the scqubits bounty hunt, if there are questions.)
Great to have @scqubits on unitaryHACK. This tool helps simulate superconducting circuit qubit, since each one of these artificial atoms has its own characteristics, which can be designed with flexibility: flux qubits, transmons, etc. more details at github.com/scqubits/scqubits
