When @davidzmorris says “Ai is Just Software,” he means it. And he is right. Let’s not mess this up. Don’t fall for the propaganda.
Day 33 of tweeting "AI is Just Software" every day until people stop perpetuating a legally-useful delusion on behalf of giant corporations

Nuri Bilge Ceylan remains the world's greatest living filmmaker. "Once Upon A Time In Anatolia" was sweeping, mythological, and imagistic, whereas "Winter Sleep" is intimate and Chekhovian. Not ONE sympathetic character, yet Ceylan still manages to make an 180+ min runtime feel crisp: automachination.com/analysis…

"We then excuse our dissonance and our want to like Obama by kidding ourselves that he has made good on at least some of his promises. But has he? Take healthcare, his prized accomplishment, for example: it's a watered-down reform that kowtows to the interests of healthcare lobbies before it provides meaningful, secure access to healthcare for our society's most desperate." - Abdul El-Sayed 2012

I remain hopeful about El-Sayed. When he's on, he's fire. And I get the compromises necessary to gain & maintain power. But dude... Obama didn't start anything. He campaigned on "Yes We Can" and then spent 8 years governing on "No We Can't." He is NOT the precedent to build on.

You live at the center of a global military empire with ~1,000 overseas bases, strangling countries w/ sanctions, coups & war for refusing to submit to US dictates. Thinking Americans shouldn’t care about elections abroad is brain dead imperial chauvinism
Earnest take: I think it’s probably not healthy for the practice of democratic self-government that so many people have developed strong rooting interests in elections in countries they don’t live in.

Malcolm Gladwell is a fucking fraud and has made a career and millions just spewing bullshit that falls apart if you have a working brain or decide to lightly fact-check him. A phenomenally stupid man and grifter.
I have just published a piece that is very important to me. It's about why so many "progressives" and people on "the left" are lying to us right now about crime, safety, and repression, and what we should be doing instead. equalityalec.substack.com/p/…

I'm as anti-Trump as you can be. But dude's got a point!
Bessent cooks Obama after dining at the Cheesecake Factory: "This is the man who built the museum that looks like Darth Vader’s tomb... I had a great meal, and I would tell the Martha's Vineyard set to give it a try." 😭

Brad, ur in Palestine. Pls exercise some humility. Listen more, lecture less. Framing the targeting of soldiers as a “cycle of violence” - rather than resistance 2 apartheid & genocide- while also not demanding US sanctions/arms embargo is asking Palestinians to die politely.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured. I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response. I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image. For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Be wary of @Amy_Siskind. She’s asking for a lot of political accounts on here to show their names and faces and not be anonymous. You absolutely should find her weird obsessing over not knowing your name or likeness extremely suspicious.

It seems a go-to tactic for liberals to blame voters. And when that doesn't work, apparently you just blame pollsters! (Anything but hold the Democratic Party accountable for offering up weak-sauce candidates.)
Wow! Pretty impressive that this one fraudster polling firm was able to single-handedly cause El-Sayed to overcome $70 million in negative ads and an 11-to-1 spending disadvantage to win the primary!

Liberals rationalizing a genocide and then blaming their losses on voters was totally on my bingo card.
The far left giving credit to a white supremacist was actually on my bingo card.

A short passage from Atomic Habits that completely reframed how I set goals: "It doesn't make sense to continue wanting something if you're not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don't want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process is to guarantee disappointment."
