For those mocking the PM for going on Gogglebox: It's for Stand Up to Cancer. For those mocking his tattoo: It's the Manchester Bee, done after the Manchester Arena Attack, where 22 died and 100's more were injured.

Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has responded to the unacceptable online abuse directed at a Met officer who received an award at yesterday's annual Police Federation Conference. PC Fiona Shaik Umar was recognised for the outstanding contribution she has made for women in policing.

The vast majority of criticism was not because she is Muslim, but because she was not following very basic gun safety rules. Her finger was on the trigger and she pointed the barrel of the gun at a fellow officer. gunsafetyrules.nra.org hunter-ed.com/muzzleloader/s… x.com/BasilTheGreat/… x.com/WilkieisBack66… x.com/LozzaFox/statu…

Currently in the most friendly and pleasant staffed @WstonesLeeds whilst waiting for Evie who is queuing for the 'Meet the Author' thingy downstairs. Made sure my seat was saved whilst I nipped downstairs with a bun to keep her going...and really good coffee.

Yes, definitely, definitely don't do this... Definitely.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT. When I recently posted β€˜DO NOT pull apart the upcoming 8-page Reform newspaper going out to 15m homes across the country so it’s in individual sheets, before sending them to Reform’s freepost address one at a time. If enough people do this it would cost them a fortune, which is very bad and unfair,’ I was making a satirical point and was absolutely not endorsing actually doing so, as per this example that has appeared under my post. DO NOT. NOT.

The front page of the billionaire-owned propaganda comic the Daily Mail promises to reveal the "TRUE COST OF LABOUR MIGRATION DITHERING". It states "at least 200,000 given right to remain since crackdown promise", and a list of what settlement brings with it: benefits, NHS care and social housing. The reader is left to add up the bill themselves. Here's the real figures. In the year to June 2026, 199,628 people were granted settlement, also known as indefinite leave to remain, up 24% on the year before. The Mail doesn't say exactly when its "since" period starts, so readers can't check its 200,000 against the official tables. The headline also hides who these people are. "Settling permanently in Britain" sounds like new arrivals. Settlement adds nobody to the population. To qualify, people must normally have already lived and worked here legally for FIVE YEARS. So many of those settling now will have arrived around 2020–21, under a Tory government. One of that government's Home Office ministers at the time was Chris Philp, who held the immigration compliance and asylum brief. He is now quoted on the Mail's front page attacking Labour over the results. Then there is the "dithering". The crackdown is Labour's own plan: in November 2025, Shabana Mahmood proposed doubling the usual wait for settlement from five years to ten. The plan hasn't yet become law because, she told MPs, the consultation drew more responses than expected and analysing them has taken longer. Until the rules change, people who meet the existing rules are entitled to settle. Granting them settlement is UK law working as written. The bigger wave is still to come. People who arrived in 2022 start qualifying next year, and the Home Office expects 1.6 million settlements between 2026 and 2030, peaking at 450,000 in 2028. That's a real issue for policy, but it grows out of the record migration levels of 2022 and 2023, when the fucking Toroes - not Labour - were in power, rather than anything Labour has done since. The same official release contained two facts the Mail left out. Settlement for refugees fell by 40% to 22,799, and the number of asylum seekers in hotels halved to 16,021, the lowest since the figures began in 2022. I wonder why that wasn't worthy of a front page splash? The page follows a familiar pattern, which the linguist Teun van Dijk calls the ideological square: talk up the other side's failures, and leave out anything that counts in their favour. The Mail's main device is the same one favoured by Reform UK, what van Dijk calls the "number game". Phrases like "thousands every week" turn routine paperwork for people already living here into the language of a flood. Whether settlement costs the public purse, and by how much, is a fair question. A front page that promises the "true cost" should give a figure, instead of misrepresenting reality on order to manipulate to its readers. Fuck the Mail.

I’ve been getting a lot of DM’s about this.. First and foremost. NCAA rule book says all players should be sidelined during injury. Now let’s get something straight. Grace Dietrich isn’t some random person on the Duke sideline. She’s a certified athletic trainer with a master’s degree, doing her job and responding to an injured player. Medical personnel should NEVER have to fight their way through anyone to provide care to a student-athlete, especially not knowing the severity of situation. I don’t care who you are or what position you think you hold. Player safety comes FIRST. There’s no defending that behavior in my opinion.

Today in 1989, the Guildford Four walked free after almost 15 years behind bars for bombings they had nothing to do with. On 5 October 1974, the Provisional IRA bombed two pubs in Guildford, the Horse and Groom and the Seven Stars. Both places were popular with off-duty soldiers from nearby barracks. Five people died Caroline Slater (18), Ann Hamilton (19), William Forsyth (18), John Hunter (17) and a civilian, Paul Craig (22). A month later a bomb in Woolwich killed two more. May these victims of brutal murder all rest in peace. The British government wanted arrests and fast. In December the English police picked up four young people with no links to the IRA. These innocent individuals were Gerry Conlon, Paul Hill, Paddy Armstrong and Carole Richardson, then just 17. Held for days under new anti-terror laws, they were brutally beaten, threatened and broken into signing false confessions. They retracted them at trial, but in October 1975 all four were sentenced to life. Gerry's father Giuseppe, swept up with six others in the Maguire Seven, died in prison in 1980. The real bombers were already in custody. In 1975, four IRA men from the Balcombe Street siege admitted the Guildford and Woolwich attacks. The British authorities didn't listen. In 1989 detectives reviewing the case found that Surrey Police had suppressed alibi evidence and doctored interview notes. The Court of Appeal finally quashed the convictions. Paul Hill, who had also been convicted of a separate Belfast killing, was released on bail, and that conviction was quashed in 1994. Gerry Conlon left court proclaiming his innocence and vowing to clear his father's name. The Birmingham Six, jailed 16 years for the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings, followed in 1991. Tony Blair finally apologised in 2005. A system hunting for a convenient suspect, and an Irish one at that, failed everyone twice. The innocent it jailed, and the dead it never gave justice.

So let's get this right. ITV exposes Reform councillors as a bunch of racists so Farage and Yusuf say they they will prosecute ITV if they are in government. Freedom of speech? Only when it's on their terms. Standard fascist behaviour. @Nigel_Farage @ZiaYusufUK @reformparty_uk
