There’s a lot of things we can debate, but the obvious awesomeness of Morris Day and the Time is not one of them ...

Today in 1977, filming on Sesame Street is temporarily halted after Oscar the Grouch tells Mr. Hooper he doesn’t give “a french fried titty fuck” about the letter K.
So next month I’ll be leading the guided tour of the Evansville Museum’s wrestling exhibit. (No pressure)

I’m having a great Friday but it would be even better if I knew there was a world premiere video from Duran Duran waiting for me tonight.
Been thinking about my dad after one of his good friends passed over the weekend. Diving into research on the next book, I found what feels like a little nod from him. Dad got me into Lewis Grizzard’s books. Here’s Lewis’ column from 1972 on the Atlanta wrestling war.

A Jack Kirby birthday surprise! The plaque at Avengers Campus inside Disneys California Adventure has been unveiled! Thank you to Disney and Marvel. What an amazing honor!
Down a research rabbit hole, I stumbled across a movie I knew about, avoided and now may have to track down. The comedic adaptation of the pulp novel that influenced the creation of Superman. Turns out there’s a wrestling connection with Man Mountain Dean turning up.

One truly from the archives.
A news report on Antonino Rocca from January 3, 1962.
Rocca was a huge hero and drawing card, perhaps the largest of his day, and this snippet offers some insight as to why.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a fucking joke. The fucking Dave Matthews Band is in but they still haven’t inducted the Monkees. Pleasant Valley Sunday is better than Dave Matthews’ entire career, motherfucker. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.
The long awaited “Museum Project” I’ve been talking about opens this weekend at the @evvmuseum -100+ years of Evansville Wrestling exhibit. From Lewis-Stecher to the Memphis years to today’s WWE tours and local indies.

Vividly remember this on VHS. The box was one of the early sound chips where when you pressed a “hidden” button you heard the main character ask “Wanna date?”
According to director Frank Henenlotter, when "Frankenhooker" (1990) was brought before the MPAA for certification, it ran into trouble.
One day, the head of the MPAA, Richard Heffner called the production company & said to the lady secretary,
"Congratulations, you’re the first film rated 'S."
She asked, "'S?' For s € x?".
He replied, "No, 'S' for 'Sh!t'".
After the incident, Producer James Glickenhaus fought back and brought the feud public. The MPAA ultimately gave the film an 'X' rating. They refused it and released the movie unrated.
