The High Court has formally found Tusla, the child and family agency, in contempt of court for failing to comply with orders to place three highly vulnerable children into secure care. In a judgment delivered by Judge Emily Egan, the court noted that while the children were eventually placed, Tusla's noncompliance due to bed shortages and staffing issues is a "systemic, recurring problem". This ruling is believed to mark the first time a formal contempt finding has been made against a State body in Ireland. Despite Tusla's arguments regarding ongoing efforts to address staff shortages and capacity, the judge proceeded with final orders, emphasizing that the court cannot tolerate continuous delays in protecting at-risk children. #Tulsa #ContemptOfCourt #Systemic irishtimes.com/crime-law/cou…

BREAKING: South Korea’s KOSPI collapses -9%, triggering a trading halt, after opening for the first time since today’s US market decline. The index is now down -47% from its record high.
What just happened? The Nasdaq 100 just posted its largest daily drop since the 2020 Pandemic, with the S&P 500 erasing -$3 trillion today. Just 24 hours ago, the Dow surged +1,600 points after the Democrats "swept" the Midterms. So, what changed? Let us explain. (a thread)

A point I would like to raise...while an 83 year old Irish man is to be arrested for refusing to demolish a holiday home (have Gardaí nothing better to be doing?), asylum centre multi millionaire Mel Sutcliffe's unauthorised Kippure Lodge Housing Estate (which houses IPAS residents only) still stands despite a demolition order and a human waste (migrant waste specifically) controversy. Dublin's drinking water is being threatened by 4,000 gallons of wastewater daily from Kippure. This unapproved site sits just 130 yards from the River Liffey. It still stands even though Sutcliffe's company have been ordered to knock it. The kicker? The government is using your tax payer money to line Sutcliffe’s pockets for housing not even one Irish person in the illegal set up. How come he isn't being arrested? I think we all know the answer. Sutcliffe's history is very interesting. Including his criminal history. Yet he was recently involved in a joint venture with Dublin City Council - lovely ribbon cutting ceremony and all.

A note on Paraguay: we aren’t just mad because we can’t access our money (although that in itself is awful), but because said bank went bankrupt because they used PUBLIC FUNDS to give out GIGANTIC loans to people connected to the president
