I’m grateful to Susie Wiles for her calm and inspiring leadership and wisdom. Susie brokered my partnership with President Trump in July 2024 and then spearheaded the campaign to get our team elected. She oversaw the transition process and helped me bring an extraordinary cadre of brilliant and disruptive leaders into HHS. Hers was the toughest job on earth, and she handled every crisis with patience, grace, and poise. God bless you, Susie, and thank you for your friendship, which I treasure.

Draining the swamp is a mandate, and we have an obligation to deliver. Entrenched interests have exercised power in Washington under both parties for decades. President Trump and I intend to keep fighting until the American people—not corporate influence—drive our health policies. I stand firmly behind President Trump and the historic reforms we are advancing together. In less than two years, this administration has rewritten federal dietary guidelines to emphasize real food, secured commitments from major food companies to remove petroleum-based synthetic dyes and other additives, launched systematic reviews of chemicals already in our food supply, and proposed requiring companies to notify the FDA before introducing ingredients they independently deem safe. These are concrete steps toward accountability that Americans demanded. We have hundreds of other accomplishments but there's still more work to do. We must finish food-ingredient reform, advance our work on ultra-processed foods, and put children’s health at the center of federal policy. I will keep pressing those priorities across this administration and work with anyone in either party who will help deliver them. The American people deserve a government that puts their health first. President Trump gave me a mandate to put prevention at the center of health care and end the chronic disease epidemic to Make America Health Again.

Recovery restores lives, rebuilds families, and strengthens communities. I visited the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network, one of eight communities receiving funding through our new $96 million STREETS Program. Through President Trump's Great American Recovery Initiative, we're uniting faith-based organizations, health care providers, and community leaders to treat the whole person and help Americans achieve lasting recovery.

Recovery is possible, and faith can be a powerful part of the journey. At Sheepgate in Colfax, Iowa, I saw firsthand how faith-based recovery programs are helping Americans overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.

We must confront kidney disease head-on to Make America Healthy Again. At JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, I joined @HHSgov leaders to announce our National Kidney Plan: prevent kidney disease, drive competition in kidney care, and expand access to lifesaving transplants. We’re putting prevention first, challenging the status quo, and fighting for patients at every stage of care.

With @POTUS and @FLOTUS leading the way, we’re putting women’s health at the center of our agenda—and tackling barriers to hormone replacement therapy. TrumpRx.gov gives women transparent, discounted prices on select hormone therapies so they can compare their options. Women deserve more than promises. They deserve access to the care they need at prices they can afford.

Hospitals have a responsibility to promote health in every part of patient care, including the food they serve. More than 250 hospitals are taking action to improve nutrition for their patients, staff, and communities. I am calling on every hospital in America to join them, sign the pledge, and help make healthy food a standard part of health care.
