thanks @Thomasdelvasto_
for getting me back on the Dan Brown train. I binge all of his content every 2 months haha.

The main learning (for me) was that the priority is to establish attachment security before going into trauma.
I’ve now facilitated 166 hours while training with Mettagroup!
I’m re-offering spots for 6 free weekly 1:1 Ideal Parent Figure (IPF) sessions. In return, I ask you to attend consistently and complete feedback forms.

No exaggeration, this guy might be the best interview in pro sports right now
It really is about being "secure enough" to explore :)
My meditation/attachment teacher said that once people have meaningful pursuits and relationships in place, they'll stop IPF anyway, regardless of transference.
“All of us, from the cradle to the grave, are happiest when life is organized as a series of excursions, long or short, from the secure base provided by our attachment figure(s).” - John bowlby
My IPF work is moving into a new phase: getting better at understanding the attachment representation beneath the imaginal scene, then finding a prompt that gives the person enough structure to explore their own solution.
Personal IPF report: primordial anticipation for your being.
In a recent practice, I imagined my mother telling me how excited she'd been to finally meet me and get to be my mother. The whole community was curious about me, excited to discover who I was.
This felt like a primordial welcome: the world excited to get know me even before I was born, wondering who I might be.
It was like the simulation itself wanted me to come into existence just to see what I was like.
Practicing the Grief Protocol has been surprisingly fun.
The art is finding the unconscious “hook” that makes a problem feel unresolvable, then helping the person see it clearly enough that the resolution unfolds on its own.
I’m building skills in three protocols for my IPF practice:
• Grief/Unresolved Conflict
• Adult Secure Intimacy (requires secure attachment)
• Social Anxiety

This IPF thing is such a beautiful way to give back what I've learned from others. I'm still finding the balance between skill and intuition. Another big part seems to be learning to get my heart broken and finding my way back to my heart over and over again.
I like playing with different frames and wording. Here is another fun perspective on “attachment security”:
Being transparent to yourself. Letting yourself in on what you are feeling and wanting, so that information can actually flow freely within the system.
the consent/appropriateness dimension is often overlooked by preoccupied or disorganized patterning
often people are simply blind to that dimension since nobody really considered their consent in childhood, so they just don't track that as an adult
