We're about to become a teenager! For next Saturday's very special birthday celebration, we're going to unleash 'parkrun kicks' (with apologies to The Undertones).
Short, sharp and very loud (please).
You can practice with youtube.com/watch?v=gtiX8bJm….
Sorry folks, we’re not on tomorrow. The course is too slippery. Take care out there. We'll be back!

Before we head off on our Christmas Day parkrun, we will have a festive singalong, with the debut of 'I wish it could be parkrun everyday'. Like the classic that this vaguely resembles, it has plenty of lyrics. Get word perfect along to youtube.com/watch?v=Y20_r9u7….

We welcomed a big turnout of 384 participants today, who enjoyed an atmospheric and misty run, jog or walk around Hardwick Park. As ever, thanks go to all of our volunteers who made this possible.

CANCELLATION
Unfortunately, Sedgefield junior parkrun can't go ahead this morning due to icy paths in the park. 🙁
Thanks to everyone who joined us for Christmas Day parkrun, to the park for hosting us, and especially to all of the volunteers who made it possible. We hope that you enjoyed our traditional festive singalong. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Don't forget our Christmas Day @parkrun, complete with the traditional festive singalong. Lyric sheets will be provided, but here they are, so you can get some practice in ahead of the big day (music here - youtube.com/watch?v=BrgirM8w…).

It’s that time of year again. Christmas Day Sedgefield parkrun is almost upon us, which means that a festive singalong is imminent. We introduced ‘Fairytale of parkrun’ last year. It went well, so we’re going to repeat it, and be even more ambitious this time around!

Shane and Kirsty are irreplaceable, but we can give a rendition of our version in our voices, and will have two volunteers who will lead the singing. Here are the words and you can practice with the backing track at youtube.com/watch?v=BrgirM8w….

MESSAGE FROM SEDGEFIELD JUNIOR PARKRUN
We have decided to cancel Junior Parkrun tomorrow as it wouldn’t be safe for our young runners. Hope to see you back next week.
SEDGEFIELD PARKRUN CANCELLED - 02.12.23
Due to the weather, the park has asked us to cancel tomorrow. Sorry folks - you'll have to get your skis out instead! ❄️
Good news from Sedgefield junior parkrun:
"We are fine to go ahead tomorrow, just a few puddles and leaves on the paths. Please can all volunteers arrive by 8.45am. Look forward to seeing you in the morning."
😃
Sedgefield parkrun is cancelled tomorrow. We've walked the course and it's already in a bad state, with the storm not about to blow over. Sorry for cancelling - we don't like doing so - but it's just not safe. ☹️ But we'll be back soon enough! 😃
IMPORTANT INFO FOR SATURDAY 19TH AUGUST
If you drive to Sedgefield parkrun this week, please ignore the yellow 'pick up point only' signs at the entrance and park normally. Parking space is reduced, so please car share or walk if you can.

Thanks to everyone for being part of our 500th event celebrations. You were in great voice, as usual. We have run/jogged/walked 500 parkruns, and now we will run/jog/walk 500 more! :-)

Tomorrow is a major milestone for Sedgefield parkrun, and we all know what that means. Yes, it's time to massacre a popular song once again, and there's only really one choice for that dubious honour. Get your practice in at youtube.com/watch?v=hb54rsJD….

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our 11th birthday celebrations. Particular shout outs to all of the volunteers who have made this possible, including Jack who clocked up his 100th today and Val and Keith who have racked up 992 voluntary events between them!
