A few (very biased) suggestions for useful books! 😉 Sport Nutrition 4e out June 2024 and available to pre-order now from Amazon. No.1 resource for many college/university sport nutrition courses and popular with nutrition practitioners as their one-stop reference source.

Absolutely! The psychological stressors inside and outside of the sporting environment must be considered when dealing with an "overtrained" athlete
What are the causes and preventions for overtraining? Overtraining is often believed to be the result of too much training. However, there is much more to it than that: bit.ly/2QwzWx8

Here is a blog in memory of Kevin Tipton. This blog describes work Kevin and I conducted with @LeighBreen on the effects of protein during exercise. Does it work? Does it help performance? Or maybe recovery after exercise? bit.ly/33BRzWH

This took me a while but I wanted to explain how I see training zones according to the different bioenergetics characteristics of each zone and how I use them with athletes, patients, fitness and longevity purposes. Hope the video can be useful!. youtube.com/watch?v=VcYyHXHT…

By the end of the year it's very common among athletes to share some kind of summary of the training. Besides the anecdotal facts, I believe it's interesting to go thought this process to analyze what's working and what's not. For that you need to keep a Training Diary (1/8)

The first edition of this book was a piece I went often to understand better the science related to endurance training. This second one adds great value with many new subjects and revisions. A must for endurance coaches and curious athletes!
Happy to announce the publication of the 2nd edition of Endurance Training - Science and Practice: essentially a completely new book, new contributors, new chapters, 469 pages, color graphs! inigomujika.com/en/books/end…

HRV-based recovery scores can be misleading. HR is constantly being modulated to meet current demands, recover from recent demands, or prepare for anticipated demands. Apps don’t know which is the case, & implications differ when it’s a recovery issue vs stress/lifestyle issue.
