Hot take: I think there is one word that is more toxic to a sustainable NFT culture than we realize:
“Alpha”

The recent and still ongoing exploit made me think a lot.
What some amazing individuals like @0xQuit and others have done can’t be appreciated enough. Same for some project leaders like @RealPapii @chrisguyot @Rafsby who actually stepped up for their holders, took action and tried to help. Got my full respect for that.
And then you have others who basically did nothing. No action, no warning, not even one message to their holders. Pretty disappointing.
But maybe one thing we can take from all of this is that we need to get better at this as a space and put this on more shoulders.
I’d love to see more project leaders, devs, marketplace people etc actually connected and sharing what they learned from stuff like this.
Doesn’t even need to be some huge official thing. Could be smaller inner circles, task forces, weekly roundtables, whatever.
Because sometimes one small thing that helped one project keep their assets safe during an exploit/scam/compromise could help the next project too.
That’s kinda the part I think we’re missing.
Not just fixing things after they happen, but actually learning from them together so we don’t run into the exact same shit again 6 months later.
And if marketplaces are part of those circles too, even better. Share signals faster, react earlier, build some automated safety stuff around patterns we already know. I see @chrismaddern already pushing things here for os.
Basically doing as a group what people like Quit, papii, chris have been doing individually.
Even small improvements can matter.
Like imagine marketplaces pause trading for an asset for a few mins after one transaction. Doesn’t solve the whole problem at all, but maybe it gives time to react before everything gets dumped.
Then you improve from there.
One thing at a time.
That’s evolution.
If we want people to stay in this space, and especially if we want new people to come in, we probably need to build better infrastructure first.
Can’t keep expecting people to get burned over and over, see the same things happen again and again, and still be excited to stick around.
Really appreciate the people who are at the front of this stuff right now and actually trying to make the space better.

I think we are going to enter the meta of ne project launches with art from abandoned og projects from 21/22 that have been forgotten, so new people don’t know they ever existed.

A few years ago, I fell in love with these amazing @ForeverBots. It was the first project I truly connected with.
@Pettersson0scar and @KevinOlberg created something genuinely special here. An incredible collection with art, design, and craftsmanship that still feels like its in a league of its own.
Now the noise and attention have faded. The project is no longer actively supported and the collection is basically out there on its own.
But, for me nothing has changed. I still love the collection. I still love these little bot fellas. And I still think the work behind them deserves to be seen in its entirety.
So my wish is to see the full collection finally completed and out in the world. What if the mint were reopened one last time, exclusively for free to holders? Spots maybe be distributed based on the leaderboard or another fair holder-based system.
That way, your entire legacy collection could finally exist in full force instead of having so many incredible assets sitting hidden in the vault forever.
