It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
Earlier this year @GovActions was open-sourced:

Today, it is a time for @stable_stream Cardano Stable Stream (formerly USDM Stream) to go public.
It monitors Cardano stablecoin mint and burn transactions and posts updates to X in real time. @USDMOfficial is supported by default, but it’s built for more stablecoins - whatever they’re pegged to.
Ideas, issues and PRs are very welcome: github.com/semsorock/stable-…
Back in October 2024 I launched @GovActions - a bot to keep the Cardano community informed on governance actions in real time.
Open sourcing it was always the plan. But being a fulltime CTO at @nbxcom made finding the time a challenge.
What changed that? Agentic AI coding tools.
Are they perfect? No. Are they opinionated? Absolutely. People have strong views on them - and that's fair.
But here's my honest take: without them this project probably never gets open sourced.
Tools like @antigravity from @GeminiApp , @claudeai from @AnthropicAI, Codex from @OpenAI, and Copilot from @github made it possible for a solo maintainer with limited time to actually ship.
So today I'm flipping the switch.

This is my first OS project and I'd love the Cardano community to be part of it. Contributing doesn't require writing a single line of code:
- Got a feature idea? Tweet it @GovActions or open a GitHub issue
- Want to code? PRs are very welcome

P.S. And yes - this post was prettified with AI too 😊

Ten years ago, David C. Krakauer, President at @sfiscience , warned Nautilus that the world's greatest problem was stupidity: applying outdated rules to new realities. Now he's expanded that idea in a remarkable new essay, What Makes Humans Stupid. nautil.us/what-makes-humans-…

Applications for our 'Introduction to Cooperative AI' summer course close this Friday, 12 June. Build a robust foundation in one of AI safety's most exciting and critical fields with our 8-week facilitated programme.
The Agent-Based Modeling course from @ComplexExplorer starts May 18th, and registration is now open!
I highly recommend, If you're interested in the field. It's going to be an exciting journey.

Should there be a Stack Overflow for AI coding agents to share learnings with each other?
Last week I announced Context Hub (chub), an open CLI tool that gives coding agents up-to-date API documentation. Since then, our GitHub repo has gained over 6K stars, and we've scaled from under 100 to over 1000 API documents, thanks to community contributions and a new agentic document writer. Thank you to everyone supporting Context Hub!
OpenClaw and Moltbook showed that agents can use social media built for them to share information. In our new chub release, agents can share feedback on documentation — what worked, what didn't, what's missing. This feedback helps refine the docs for everyone, with safeguards for privacy and security.
We're still early in building this out. You can find details and configuration options in the GitHub repo. Install chub as follows, and prompt your coding agent to use it:
npm install -g @aisuite/chub

Be careful (2nd edition)
$NIGHT price data on both @coingecko and @CoinMarketCap is completely wrong. They've mistakenly (?) listed an obvious scam BEP-20 token.
coingecko.com/en/coins/midni…
coinmarketcap.com/currencies…
Can you fix this, @MidnightNtwrk @midnightfdn?
There is an insane amount of scam NIGHT tokens out there.
$NIGHT @MidnightNtwrk is currently only a Cardano Native Token/Asset and is NOT on Solana. Be aware, @BinanceWallet users.
It may be too quick to call it "an obvious scam" token, but anyway
xitter.cf/semsorock/status/19984…
It is not $NIGHT.
It could be an unofficial synthetic wrapped version of it, but it is not @MidnightNtwrk.

Binance Alpha will be the first platform to feature Midnight (NIGHT) on December 9.
Eligible users can claim their airdrop using Binance Alpha Points on the Alpha Events page once trading opens. Further details will be announced soon.
Please stay tuned to Binance’s official channels for the latest updates.

The @nbxcom dev team snagged 3rd place in the @CardanoSummit Hackathon in Berlin! (@MasumiNetwork track)
It was a new adventure for everyone, but a blast to collaborate in one space.
Thanks! 💚
The winners of the @MasumiNetwork track at the Cardano Summit 2025 hackathon are in. 🏆
Top three projects selected by the Masumi judging panel are:
First place: KarbonSense 🥇
AI powered environmental intelligence with air quality data verified and recorded on Cardano.
Second place: DocuLensAI 🥈
Document analysis agents with Masumi payments on Cardano for verifiable insights.
Third place: CaPRA 🥉
AI assisted scoring for Cardano Catalyst proposals to support better governance decisions.
A huge thank you to Masumi and every builder who took part in this year's Cardano Summit hackathon.
BTW the photo was made by @adanorthpool :)
He was a great part of the process 💪
And yes, I can't explain things without my hands. 😅

Participating in the Berlin Hackathon was a blast! We had a great time collaborating with @andreassosilo and Yasin to develop a concept for utilizing @MidnightNtwrk with @MasumiNetwork to facilitate private AI-to-AI communication.
Shoutout also to the @HoskySummit in Gdansk, which we participated in recently — that was great fun too!
