At the California Baptist Annual Meeting, 165 Send Network-assessed and endorsed church planters were recognized and prayed over. Behind these planters are sending churches committed to praying, giving, and sending. We’re encouraged by what God is doing among California Baptists as churches are strengthened, leaders are developed, missionaries are sent, and the gospel advances. Join us in praying for these planters, their families, and the sending churches supporting them as we work together to reach every community with the gospel!

Church planting is hard, holy work. When the numbers dip, people leave, and the weight feels heavy, it’s easy to live as if God’s love depends on your performance. But 2 Samuel 9 reminds us what God’s covenant kindness looks like in these 4 ways. ⬇️ --- 1️⃣ You are sought. - God’s love initiates. - In 2 Samuel 9, David asks, “Is there anyone … to whom I can show kindness?” - God isn’t waiting for you to prove yourself. His grace moves toward the undeserving. - Church planter, you are sought out—not because of your performance, but because of His great kindness. 2️⃣ You are found. - Your place at the table is secure. - Mephibosheth wasn’t looking for a promotion. He was an unexpected recipient of the king’s kindness. - David restored his inheritance and welcomed him to the table. - Your place in God’s family isn’t earned by ministry success. So, sit down, eat, and receive. 3️⃣ You are known. - Being known doesn’t mean being sent away. - Mephibosheth called himself a “dead dog.” Ministry leaders know that inner voice: Imposter. Not enough. Liability. - God already knows your fears and failures. But in Christ, your deepest identity isn’t your ministry performance. - You are known, redeemed, and loved by Him. 4️⃣ You are held. - Grace holds you when ministry gets messy. - Mephibosheth lost land, but the king remained his treasure. - Psalm 23 promises God’s people a table even in the presence of their enemies—not a life without them. - God’s grace doesn’t always remove the hardship. Instead, it holds you through it. --- Still limping. Still planting. Still loved. Your seat at the table isn’t secured by your performance; it rests on God’s covenant kindness. You are sought. You are found. You are known. You are held. We are weak—and that’s a good thing, because He is strong. --- Want to read more? What if our goal wasn't just to see our churches renewed and revitalized, but to ultimately become a multiplying church? That doesn't sound crazy to God. churchreplanters.com

Sunday’s sermon may be the last that a congregant hears. It may be the last time they sing on this side of eternity. An eternal mindset brings about a sense of sobriety and urgency in our leadership. From ep. 7 — Wisdom and Humility Full episode here: i-sml.mtrbio.com/public/smar…

There was a time when Fred and Casey were homeless and chasing the next fix. Then they met Jesus, and Casey says it best: He was their fix. Today, they are church planting missionaries at The Fix Chapel in Tappahannock, Virginia. It’s a church for people in recovery, their families, and their neighbors.  So when @NoahOldham, VP of Send Network, asked Fred what he’d say to the Southern Baptists who give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, the answer wasn’t about money. It was about being held up by people he’s never even met. That’s your giving at work. And 100% of it goes to the mission field. For those of you who give and pray — THANK YOU!

Together, you gave $73.6 million through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to help make Jesus known across North America! 🙌 You helped put the gospel within reach of people who desperately need to hear it. And behind every dollar is a story God is still writing. ⤵️ A baptism. A first gospel conversation. A new church. A disciple making another disciple. $73.6 million isn’t the end of the story. It’s fuel for what comes next. 🙏 THANK YOU!

Mormon pioneers settled this region along the Snake River in the 1860s — more than a century before most evangelical churches arrived. 📍The Blackfoot, Idaho, metro area ✳️ 47,992 people and only 2.56% Evangelical Christian This isn’t a secular city — it’s Mormon country, and has been since the 1860s. 47,992 people — Only 13 Evangelical churches. 1 church for every 3,692 people. ❗Blackfoot needs church planters. ----- We post every week about the 50 least-reached cities in the U.S. Drop a follow so you don’t miss one! --- *Data attribution - “50 Least Reached Metro Areas” by JD Payne (Part 26/50)

A student. A summer camp. A decision that will echo forever. 🙌 In Many Farms, Arizona, Billy Tallas is planting a church on the Navajo Nation. In just a few months, God is already moving. One student he’s been reaching came to a camp this summer and gave his life to Jesus. Since then, they have seen many more come to know Jesus and be baptized.  Southern Baptists— thank you for giving through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. 100% of your gifts go to the mission field, which means a church plant is taking root in a small town where students are hearing the gospel. Thank you for giving. Thank you for praying. Let’s keep going.

Hey Stephen, we are highlighting the 50 least evangelical areas according to this list linked below. Some of the areas are smaller than others. imb.maps.arcgis.com/apps/das…
185
Martha’s Vineyard, MA Evangelical Percentage: 1.19 % 6 Churches for 20,600 people. Only 245 Evangelical Christians. The island’s modern identity as a wealthy, progressive, celebrity/tourist retreat reinforces a secular-leaning, low-urgency religious culture rather than a gospel-seeking one. Martha’s Vineyard may not be an easy place to plant a church, but with 1 church for every 3,433 people the need is urgent. --- We post every week about the 50 least-reached cities in the U.S. Drop a follow so you don’t miss one! --- *Data attribution - “50 Least Reached Metro Areas” by JD Payne (Part 25/50)

What a day at NAMB! 🎉 This morning in chapel, Noah Oldham, Vice President of @sendnetwork, hosted your Annie Armstrong Missionaries, Fred and Casey Weymouth. We got to celebrate something incredible together: Southern Baptists gave $73.6 million to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering! 🙌🎉 Fred and Casey's story is one of the reasons we're so fired up. Years ago, they were addicted and living on the streets of Richmond, Virginia. Then, Jesus got hold of them, and something got rearranged on the inside. 📍Today, they lead The Fix in Tappahannock, Virginia, a church plant and recovery ministry where people are getting clean, meeting Jesus, and never looking back. Think about that. A gift given in a church pew in one place is helping a couple of former addicts take hope to others. 🙏 "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..." Ephesians 3:20 ⛪️ To every church that gave and every Southern Baptist who prayed: thank you. This is your story too.

Here’s what it looks like to do God’s work the Devil’s way ⬇️ Choosing productivity > prayer. Choosing a book > your Bible. Or seeing people as attendees to retain > souls to shepherd. Just because you are busy doing God’s work doesn’t mean you are doing it God’s way. Don’t take the shortcut. Start with this: “Jesus—what would honor You most?” Check out the full episode on spiritual warfare with @jonathanparnell 🔗 i-sml.mtrbio.com/public/smar…
