Google is using its search monopoly to coerce schools into adopting AI. This highlights the danger of allowing an unregulated monopolist to control an essential service.
Multiple courts have found Google liable for violating antitrust laws, and this latest move shows it remains unchastened.
As the public increasingly pushes back against the use of AI in schools, Google is making clear it will punish those who don’t fall in line.
Breaking: Google will turn off web search for schools that opt out of A.I. for kids.

And unlike almost every other spike in gas prices in US history which were not caused by the sitting president of either party, this one was completely inflicted upon us by the policies of Trump and the Republican Party.

We don't let corporations dump a bunch of chemicals in our water and say, “Gee, I hope nobody gets hurt.”
We have rules and laws in place to keep people safe.
Frontier AI models are not exempt from the laws already on the books. And it’s time for Congress to step up to further protect people.

Just as expected, Steven and the White House are engaging in a blatant misinformation campaign.
Yes, it takes time to count millions of ballots, because in most states, counting starts AFTER the polls close on Election Night and we all want to ensure that election protection laws are respected.
More than 50 million people have already cast their votes so far with tens of millions more expected to vote on Election Day.
The White House is scared and desperate because the Trump agenda is hurting the American people. Eligible voters deserve to have their voices heard and their ballots counted, no matter how hard Trump and his allies push their baseless claims.
Sending best wishes to my dear friend Chris Murphy for a speedy recovery
Chris Murphy’s chief says the 53-year-old Democratic senator had a stroke.
“Yesterday afternoon, Senator Murphy started experiencing numbness in his arm while at his son’s hockey game. He was taken to a local hospital, where it was discovered he had experienced a stroke. He was transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring and is responding well to treatment. The doctors are encouraged by his progress, he is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery.”
Wishing a day full of love, laughter and joyful remembrance on this Día de los Muertos.
May their memories live on forever.

New: The Trump administration says that “DHS is NOT arresting U.S. citizens by mistake.” But that is precisely what is happening. We've cataloged every case we can find of an immigration agent holding a citizen during the current administration. propub.li/4zgULAj

"New records obtained by KARE 11 show the company that owned a vacant private prison in Appleton, Minnesota offered to sell it to the state in 2025 for $75 million.
One year later, the Trump administration agreed to use taxpayer funds to buy the same abandoned prison from CoreCivic, Inc., for $495.6 million.
The price difference, $420 million, is more than taxpayers are estimated to have lost in Minnesota’s much-publicized Feeding Our Future fraud scandal." kare11.com/article/news/inve…
So we’re supposed to believe there’s no money for health care, but there’s enough money for ICE to spend nearly $500 million buying an abandoned private prison in MN that was originally offered for sale at $75 million just last year?
If that sounds like taxpayers are getting ripped off, it’s because you are.

And we must pass bipartisan legislation to keep our advanced AI technology out of China’s hands.
TRUMP YESTERDAY: “We brought inflation way down.”
BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS: Inflation in December 2024 was 2.9%. This September it was 3.7%.
Working people are struggling to make rent and pay for groceries, and President Trump wants to sell you a $5000 hamburger at his private golf club. (Fries and a drink extra.)
