I can send you some agrobacterium tumefaciens GV3101 that has a Ti plasmid in excess of 200Kbp. I'll be sequencing it soon via @seqcoast so can provide a fresh map! Single copy and natural plasmid but can be isolated with CsCl gradient or big fat gel of dooom

A fresh Vibrio natriegens S72 genome just dropped! We sequenced the critter via @seqcoast hybrid seq and then carefully assembled and polished by the talented biocurator @naturepoker1. Big thanks to @thuronyi for sharing the microbe with us. Enjoyyy 🦠🧬

The Armbruster Lab is officially open in the Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh! We're studying how bacteria in biofilms persist in the built environment & transition into the host to cause infections. Happy to be here! 🤓

Outsource. $80 at @seqcoast gets a reasonable coverage for small microbe. Some services let you just send cells. The economies of scale drive cost down way more than doing it yourself bc infra + reagent initial capital is still high.
