Hopefully back after the weekend🤞
In the meantime, SequenceServer is a reliable (and fast) alternative to run NCBI BLAST (and more) used by many research teams

We can help with this. What's your setup/use case?
Hopefully NCBI services are back to normal after the weekend 🤞

It is scary when something we've relied on for daily use suddenly disappears. Hopefully NCBI is back after the weekend 🤞

(we created it 10+ years ago to BLAST unpublished data, get prettier graphics that help interpretation, and improve collaboration; it now also does much more)

In the meantime, SequenceServer includes NCBI BLAST and CDD - it's fast and reliable.
(Many teams already have internal SequenceServer instances to help get genomics done faster & better - on standard or unpublished databases).

NIH resources like BLAST are fundamental to so many researchers. Sadly, these might have been affected by the recent governmental overhaul.
We need to reinstate these public goods but folks still need to get their work done.
In the meantime, check below

(hopefully NCBI will rapidly smooth things out).
But if you need a dependable fallback, we're always here with a beautiful fast and reliable BLAST interface.
SequenceServer is a paid service giving your lab a private BLAST server (and much more).
It’s been a lifesaver for getting things done.
Thanks @konekomaro !!

That's great @house101064 - if in the future you need a SequenceServer for a team, or just want to avoid the hassle of setting things yourself,
you can get a point-and-click setup and benefit from additional visualizations and analysis tools by using our cloud servers
We're delighted to see SequenceServer being used for cool non-model organisms :)

transXpress simplifies the use of best-practice methods and up-to-date software for de novo transcriptome assembly, and produces standardized output files that can be mined using SequenceServer to facilitate rapid discovery of new genes and proteins in non-model organisms.
And @hamajit - we are delighted that SequenceServer is helping you do some very cool research on the evolution of sex and multicellularity in Volvox

Will we ever stop celebrating #databases? Not likely! They offer high-quality #datasets to scientists worldwide.
Perfect example: Reefgenomics(.Org)🪸 Published in 2016, this #BLASTfromthePast is still being updated with #coral #genomes today! We're proud to be a part!
