frankly the amount of work this drive has become for the "archivists" and mods is insane for something that is a 2-4 week stopgap lmao. but it's entirely self-inflicted because they've uploaded fics without author consent 😭

sad bc i was writing a fic for the first time in years recently and outside of how demoralizing it is to see readers' attitudes these days, i'm just even less motivated to ever post publicly. if u like superbat u can message me on discord i guess

if u cared about authors u would make the drive opt-in versus opt-out, but no that would limit the number of fics you can upload, so u do it this way, where we have to rely on the conscientiousness of unpaid volunteers who will likely be overwhelmed by volume soon enough

u can spend months and years writing a fic and then people will call u entitled for not wanting it reposted somewhere u didn't consent for it to be shared. cool 👍

in order to have your work removed from this drive, you have to list each work out individually. and b/c the fics are uploaded without author name in the file name, they can't be easily found. there is no listed timeline for removal. lol

forcing fic writers to opt-out rather than letting them opt-in if they choose to is not "working with authors" or respecting them lol
