For all its naysayers Gutenberg is a game changer for digital news apps. Its a force multiplier for your team. We've spent the last 3 years going "all in" on block development. Here's a little thread of what's possible with the right investment into Gutenberg

Very funny to see such direct evidence that everyone understood the economics of AI requires political capture to make any sense at all

Looks like the business world and the stock market are having a tough time right now. I thought all day about what they could do about it. Here's what I came up with:
Make something people want to buy
There’s more: 27.3 introduces a memory graph.
It’s centered on you: relationships, places, routines, health, workouts, and what motivates you or holds you back.
Plus “memory atoms”: facts, opinions, intentions and events, with time, place, people and topic.
Tidbits:
• The memory graph is filled by two kinds of recipes:
1. Fastpass: Turns already-structured data into insights. For example, Person-v1 reads your Me card’s name fields.
2. Agent: An on-device or PCC model extracts insights by querying Siri chats, messages, photos, health data, and other sources.
• There’s only one agent recipe today, MotivatorBarrierResource. Its prompt asks 60 built-in questions, including “Do extended solo media activities during evening downtime routines highlight time availability barriers for adequate sleep?”
• The memory graph is still being built. For example, there’s no process that creates memory atoms yet.
• Memory atoms can generalize into broader memories. Each is tagged with one of 21 topics, such as food, travel, finance, or services, which can store your dentist or lawyer.
Here’s where to find the DBs on Mac:
• Memory graph: ~/Library/CorePersonalization/insight/MemoryGraph/memorygraph.db
• HybridSearch (incl. explicit-memory records, none yet): ~/Library/Daemon Containers/<UUID>/Data/Library/HybridSearch/index/C/index.db
Both use HybridDatabase, Apple’s fork of Kùzu (storage v57), so the public kuzu package can’t open them. You can use HybridDatabase.framework.

It was marketed as:
- 2 years until permanent underclass
- you’ll all lose your jobs
- your skills will be worthless
- we’re going to replace you
- your entire career is now a $20/month subscription
All in an already terrible job market btw. Possibly the most important technology humanity has ever built, with some of the worst marketing imaginable. The labs completely failed communicating the tech, miserably bad and only improved just end of last year. How did anyone expect that to make people excited?

Look, if building data centers counts as economic development even though it mostly only creates short-term jobs, then we should be able to build high-speed rail even if nobody rides it (though they will).
Because jobs.
The stars have aligned for midwest high speed rail.

In April a lot of people laughed when Olivia Reingold made up that El-Sayed had “narrowed his eyes” while answering a question about Israel, but actually it was quite sinister and a clear cut case of fabulism that should’ve cost her her job. She is not a real journalist
I wrote about the very funny and ridiculous but also not-funny and ominous @TheFP episode this week, in which @Olivia_Reingold fabricated a detail to advance an Islamophobic narrative—plus the Israeli gov't rewarding its most violent settlers after the condemnations faded. 🔗👇

Apple is building an explicit-memory store for Siri AI. Memory records are queried via full-text (BM25) and vector search, then merged via RRF.
Siri’s chat recall in 27.2 uses the same search pipeline to find past chats.
Built on the Kuzu graph database Apple acquired.
