I'm not saying margaritas have magical powers but I had one last night and it's the first day in two weeks I haven't had a headache.
What it felt like to have a meeting and an event on my calendar cancelled within an hour of each other.
I remember watching Bohemian Rhapsody and thinking it was hilarious Freddie Mercury gave his cats their own rooms. Fast forward to today, when I started moving my crap out of the back bedroom to transform it into Wiley's sanctuary to try to keep him de-stressed and UTI free.

So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar and flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.
10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a real commodity.
17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.
In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!
So disappointed! I loved this show! It's also one of the few network shows I watched.
ABC is making some changes to its lineup following the resolution of the writers strike. Comedy #HomeEconomics has been canceled and High Potential has been moved to fall 2024 bit.ly/3PAs9MX

Missouri Republicans at a literal book burning. They think flamethrowers should be legal but history books should be destroyed. – at Durham, NC
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video show two Republican state senators incinerating a pile of empty boxes they said symbolized "woke liberal agenda" "leftist policies"
One of the senators (William Eigel) also stated that he will burn woke books too - "on the front lawn of the governor's mansion"

This man is playing fetch with a Beluga Whale. This is INCREDIBLE.
We honestly don't deserve these Majestic Creatures.
Protect them at all costs.
Just did one of those tasks I put off for 2 months and had high anxiety about and it took literally 30 seconds.
My father turns 75 in November, is in relatively good health compared to many of his peers, and even he's like "yeah, you shouldn't be in Congress if you're older than 65, maybe 70 tops."
What is happening with these accessories?
Also most of the people doing this are way too young...

This. ⬇️ Honestly most of my biggest knowledge takeaways were from classes outside my major (I should have been a sociology major), though my actual major (English Writing) did teach me the art of constructive criticism, which is gold.
My Randall Park crush just grew a little bit.
Randall Park says Hollywood keeps “taking the wrong lessons” from successful movies.
“For example, ‘BARBIE’ is this massive blockbuster, and the idea is: Make more movies about toys! No. Make more movies by and about women!”

That is not an investment in education. That's continuing to let public schools rot while stuffing the pockets of private schools.

Authors often get most of the attention when it comes to issues around book banning and intellectual freedom, but those who really deserve the plaudits and attention are the teachers and librarians and community members doing the work every day to keep books available.
They often take far greater risks than any author in defense of intellectual freedom. So the next time you see a teacher or librarian, please thank them on behalf of authors, readers, and the communities they serve.
