The basic emergency recommendation is one gallon per person per day.

2. TRY COOKING ONE MEAL WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. 🍳
Seriously. One meal.
Find out whether you have a safe alternative cooking method and the supplies to use it.
Outdoor grills and camping stoves stay OUTDOORS. Carbon monoxide is not a seasoning.
3. FIND YOUR EMERGENCY SUPPLIES. 🔦
Not theoretically.
Actually locate your flashlights, batteries, first-aid kit, radio, and important documents.
If your emergency flashlight hasn't been seen since Christmas 2019, you may have a problem.
4. HAVE A 15-MINUTE FAMILY CONVERSATION. 📻
What happens if the phones stop working?
Where will everyone meet?
Who checks on elderly relatives?
Who knows how to shut off the water?
A plan that exists only in your head isn't much of a family plan.
5. INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO A NEIGHBOR. 🤝
This one costs absolutely nothing.
Your neighbor might be a nurse, electrician, mechanic, gardener, or someone who knows how to solve problems without consulting YouTube.
And you might have something useful to offer them.

NEW: Gilbert man on mushrooms stabs and shoots two dead before officer fatally shoots him
During a party in which Brett Eschliman, 28, was the fifth will, he killed two and wounded a third after the group ingested psychedelic mushrooms in a Gilbert, Arizona trailer.
He stabbed and shot a man, then shot and stabbed a woman more than a dozen times in a trailer on the property.
He returned and stabbed a third woman multiple times and struck her with a firearm; she survived.
Officers arrived within minutes after a 911 call from a victim and neighbors. Eschliman lunged at an officer and swiped at his rifle before retreating inside with an aluminum mop handle. An officer entered the bedroom and fired two rounds, striking him.

Footage captured an attempted stabbing inside UIC’s Student Center East, showing a student on the floor appearing to fend off an attacker armed with a large knife. The student’s roommate said the victim had slipped on liquid from a thrown bottle and kicked the attacker in the jaw before escaping.
UIC officials said the suspect, also a student, allegedly tried to use an incendiary device before the attack and was arrested following the November 4 incident at 750 S. Halsted St. The victim was unharmed, and officials reported no ongoing threat to campus.

Ukrainian company Militech Group has reportedly developed the Grim LTE modem to control drones when Starlink access is restricted.
The device increases LTE transmission power to 1.5 watts — six times a standard modem — and offers an operating range of up to 45 km (about 28 miles) with seamless base-station switching. It is based on a MikroTik modem with a signal amplifier and dual SIM slots. Batches of 500 or more are being prepared for Ukrainian manufacturers in 2026, with foreign availability expected from January 2027.
The system is positioned as a backup amid reported Starlink delays on the front line.
