I graduated this week! More importantly, my thesis is now publicly available. I look at the @lolesports English broadcast for Worlds and how the regions are discussed and conceptualised along geopolitical and racial lines:

A very, very tentative look at what is hopefully a much more robust @LCSOfficial trading card series that I can have prepared for a roadshow this year. Starting earlier with automation in mind means more opportunities for fun designs. Please suggest ideas.
@sjokz @Vedius @esportsjatt @AzaelOfficial it's silly perhaps, but as y'all are mentioned quite extensively throughout, it would mean a lot to have you take a look!
Also @IWDominate I make fun of @Caedrel of being a TheShy fan (academically) if that does anything for you
Happy #Worlds2025! I've now made my paper on @lolesports import discourse publicly available. I take a look at 2023 @TeamLiquidLoL and how imports, Asian diaspora, and White players reflect modern anxieties about Asians and immigrants in North America.
shadowmisstep.notion.site/4k…
You gotta admit - doubling down on the Chinese zodiac excuse two years in a row is really, really funny.
I called my shot and it backfired really hard, so if there's not enough of your special little guy uh. My bad.
A reminder that all the cards are also available at shadowmisstep.notion.site/lt… if you want to look through or print them for yourself!

I've always wanted @lolesports trading cards, so...
Introducing the @LTANorth 2025 Series, featuring a 45 card base set and 20 inserts of varying rarity! Shipping permitting, these (both singles and "packs") will be available at the LTA finals in Texas.
In the meantime, the checklist is available at shadowmisstep.notion.site/lt…. I can't exactly sell them, so, you can also download the cards to print for yourself.
Heading back home now - my card binder is well and truly cleaned out! Thank you to everyone who took 'em off my hands, and to all the fans who traded trinkets with me.
What a delightful and bizarre experience to see something you made on a whim receive such love and attention.
#MSI2025 Freebies - @lolesports trading cards!
I have three sets of every team in the main event and two sets of the mini cards to give to people. I'll be watching the games from the 7th to the 9th, but I'll be around for the rest of the week! Find the purple binder, I guess?

If I can make the federal government spell esports right so can you
At #Congressh 2025, Tina Sang from @UAlberta told us about her research on esports and how they relate to patriotism and nationalism. 💡What’s your research passion? @shadowmisstep @federation_hss

Can someone elaborate on the argument that the audience for esports will grow if fans got to know the players as people? A majority of esport players are either awful/unlikable people or just boring. The human-based stories that do exist aren't attracting an "invisible majority."
