Are Kannadigas being denied jobs in Bengaluru's IT sector? Amid allegations of hiring discrimination, should Karnataka revive its 2024 job reservation policy, which proposed 50% quota in management roles and 75% in non-management jobs for locals? Or would such quotas hurt Bengaluru's position as India's IT capital?

Yes, I have this question too. In San Francisco airport, you find lots of Asian staff - but population wise Asians are a huge % ( > 35%) - Their numbers probably reflects their population too. Bengaluru definitely does not have that high % Malayali population afaik but airport seems to be dominated by them in all counters.
Check BLR airport , 80% of staff is Malyalis from Kerala, CEO and higher management are all Mallus . So u get ground support staff only from Kerala , none of Kannadigas eligible ?

@DKShivakumar avare at the same time please give better higher education to our youth specially in Kalyan Karnataka. GER is low, soft skills low there. Train them better. Over 60-70% of Faculty in govt colleges are reportedly guest faculty. Please have permanent faculty, fund research in our universities. That is the way to create more highly skilled people in the time of AI. @CMofKarnataka @lkatheeq

My friend works at an IT company in one of the top cities of Karnataka. She is the only Kannadiga there; the rest of the employees are from neighbouring states because of biased hiring practices by HR. While Kannadiga HR managers hire based on merit and skills, those from neighbouring states prioritize mother tongue over experience and professional skills.

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar warns Bengaluru’s IT firms of action over allegations that Kannadigas are being denied jobs His statement follows a viral video in which a woman alleges companies reject candidates who mention Kannada on their resumes, hire very few Kannadigas and recruit from campuses in other states at lower salaries Appealing to the Karnataka CM, she says locals are losing job opportunities DKS says action will follow if firms are found deliberately sidelining Kannadigas. Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has urged affected candidates to file complaints

No IT jobs if your mother tongue is Kannada? 🚨 A Bengaluru woman claims in a viral video that : > Resumes mentioning Kannada are rejected. > Telugu and Tamil speakers are preferred. > Campus drives skip Bengaluru colleges. > Companies hire from other states at lower salaries. @DKShivakumar needs to look into this.

Over the last 24 hours, Chief Minister @vdsatheesan has made two statements that deserve a clear response. First, while speaking about communal harmony in the context of the Kashi restaurant in Fort Kochi, named after a Hindu holy city, which serves beef and displays Muhammad Ali Jinnah, I want to remind the Chief Minister that communal harmony and respect for religious sentiments must work both ways. While every establishment has the right to serve food of its choice, freedom of expression under Article 19 must be understood alongside its constitutional limitations under Article 19(2). What would happen if a restaurant were named after a Muslim holy city and served pork? I am not advocating such a situation, but asking whether the political establishment would respond with the same restraint. Secularism cannot be selective or dictated by political convenience. The faith and sentiments of every Malayali, whether Hindu, Muslim or Christian, deserve equal respect. Second, the Chief Minister’s remarks in Delhi on the growth of the Indian Union Muslim League and Jamaat-e-Islami raise a serious question about Kerala’s future. As our state approaches its 70th anniversary on November 1, after decades of Congress and CPM rule, are Malayalis really left with only two choices a religion-based political party or extremism? I categorically reject this false choice. Malayalis deserve better than decades of Congress–CPM politics and the divisions they have perpetuated. There is a third way the Narendra Modi way: a path of development, good governance, equal opportunity and dignity for every Malayali, irrespective of religion or community. BJP Keralam will continue to champion this alternative. Keralam does not have to choose between appeasement and extremism. -Shri @RajeevRC_X State President, BJP Keralam #APAKADAMPolitics

Filing a case against the YouTuber instead of the Fort Kochi café owner for displaying a Jinnah portrait and serving beef is not development. Just like claiming 100% literacy while failing to create local jobs and pushing people to migrate to other states and countries for work is not development either.

Hit like if you believe that Sharjeel Imam is a Jihadi terrorist and @RanaAyyub is a donation chor.
We need a radical democratic politics that expands the horizon of our future possibilities, one in which equality and liberty for all become the ends of democracy rather than the mere preservation of an institutional system. Activists like Sharjeel Imam ought to be included in that struggle. @AsimAli6 telegraphindia.com/opinion/d…

“BJP Murdabad,” “Modi Murdabad,” and “Modi Mar Gaya” are freedom of speech, but “Neha Bora Murdabad” suddenly becomes a problem? What happened to the same freedom of speech now? You can’t preach tolerance while demanding selective immunity. Either the rules apply to everyone, or your outrage is nothing but hypocrisy.

What in my tweet rankled you? Article 370’s abrogation was upheld unanimously by a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. Confine the issues arising out of SIR on merit, without casting personal aspersions. This is where, I think, the former CEC erred in the podcast.
Keep your counsel Mister Khemka. You’re not the country’s conscience keeper.

Very true. He is falling a prey to the global Islamo leftist mafia. All his videos now are from them. They are egging him on. A person of low character, untrustworthy.
You are on a rampage against the CEC. It seems to be personal. What scores you want to settle is your business. But don’t reach and propagate definitive judgments of your own when the issue is before the SC. You are damaging your own reputation. I am not trolling you. I am exposing your surprising choice to defame India’s electoral system. You should be more responsible. India has given you great opportunities in life and prestige. Be grateful. @DrSYQuraishi

Is pointing out your Lies trolling? When the SC is in agreement with SIR what is your issue? Are you judge, jury, prosecutor all in one? If you are so sure huge no of people have been left out, where are they? Pl produce a fair no before the courts. Empty talk had no value. You are a total disgrace as a former CEC. Show the data before you lie. Big shame

Logic not clear. Without proof hold a man guilty? This is what the former CEC is saying should be done. The example of traffic constable not doing his job is risible. The issue is before the SC. Even before they have given their judgment he is making his own judgment in advance. These forces want to delegitimise an unfavourable SC judgment. Pressure tactics. What is driving him is not clear.
Where is Separation of Powers?🛑 “If a traffic constable stops doing his job tomorrow, will you send a Sessions Judge to manage the traffic?” — Former CEC Dr. S.Y. Quraishi delivers a scorching reality check on the Supreme Court deploying 700 judges to verify voter rolls in Bengal and Bihar instead of holding the executives of ECI accountable.

You are a lawyer. Why are you so impatient? Don’t want to wait for the SC verdict? No faith in the SC but full faith in a former CEC’s advance judgment made for suspect reasons. Politics. For him it has become a campaign. He has done a podcast with Dhruv Rathee. Your post says a lot about the mindset of lawyers who practice in the court but have no faith in the judiciary.
Pity that the present CEC has presided over a vote scam of such epic proportions, that has lead to his predecessors calling him out. Quite unlike the IFS fraternity that has maintained a studied silence about Hardeep Puri's Epstein denials being called out by a foreign power, just as its viceroy turned up to directly deal with a West Indian company.

True sir! The truth emerges... Sharjeel Imam's defenders must speak up now. This is far more sinister than just talking about cutting off India at chicken's neck.
1/5 Sharjeel Imam has given an interview detailing his Islamist manifesto. Surprisingly, no storm has been kicked up over pronouncements that are so unapologetically anti-liberal, anti-secular, anti-democracy, anti-Constitution—in a word, anti-national. 2/5 He openly calls the Constitution fascist, labels secularism a trap, and denounces democracy as a contrivance to deny Muslims their political rights. 3/5 The piece is a litany of indictments against the liberal class. Imam rejects any difference between liberals and Hindutvadis. In his essentialist worldview, all Hindus are the same, unanimous in denying Muslims political power they claim as a divine right. 4/5 Inadvertently, Sharjeel has recognised something that liberals have been fighting shy of acknowledging: that Hindutva’s idea of India is anchored in the same “overarching nationalist framework”— that Muslims are Indians above all else. 5/5 For more, read this Opinion article by Ibn Khaldun Bharati, who looks at Islam from an Indian perspective: Sharjeel Imam’s Islamist manifesto will be forgotten. The silence of liberals will not theprint.in/opinion/sharjeel…
