To go back to Ryan’s original question, the deep tiller in fall should work well. Can keep the harrows down as well if the soybeans were harvested when the vines weren’t too green and have had some rain and time to break down.

Definitely try with harrows down before pinning them up. Will leave a much better field finish that you can seed right into in spring. Or can direct seed as well. What are you seeding next on the land and what’s your plan for fertilizing?

Looking to next year for Invigor canola booking. Anyone notice any differences between varieties such as L340PC and L356PC and L358HPC for pod drop/pod shatter this year specifically? Not interested in any of the new varieties. They went flatter than anything. Located in MB.

Quick crop tour after the recent rain event. There seems to be a lot of vertically challenged cereals. Thank God I sprayed manipulator on the wheat. It’s still got the lean, but man it could have been worse. Barley is fairly knotted up.

Anyone know where I could borrow or rent one of these penetrometers in August or September to test some compaction and find hardpan layers in my fields. The closer to southern Manitoba the better.

Should I blame VR maps for a lodged field? No, this dummy should have applied manipulator on his Brandon wheat!

We’ve always applied at 4-6 leaf tank mixed with whatever herbicide, always had good results. This year we had early weed pressure so it will be a separate pass, will see if the results are different.

That’s the way I’ve done it in the past. Tank mix with tandem and mcpa, and spray at 10-12 gallons of water. Never had an issue, and always worked well.

Just a personal edit. Manipulator rep didn’t say this below. Was a rep for a competing product/company that has a different application window and timing. We work great from 4 leaf to flag leaf. Widest application window and safest product on the crop!
Replying to @bscomet22
Little early for manipulation? I wanted to do the same but rep told me complete waste. So I did a half section anyways. Was 5-6 leaf at app time.
