I haven’t felt so affirmed or inspired in many years! Thanks @daisychristo for a thought-provoking session today. Looking forward to putting your ideas into practice.

I sometimes get asked about the common issues I see across primary schools and the kind of support I offer as a result. This brief blog explains this stuff. As ever, retweets really appreciated (given that the algorithm hates links to blogs). primarycolour.home.blog/2024…

Plenty of kids will get this through one-to-one reading at home with a parent or carer. But plenty of kids won't get this, so we need whole-class mechanisms for providing this scaffolded practice. >>

I lead two primary schools. Homework is inherently inequitable. Children should not need homework to succeed in their learning - the school day should be sufficient.

Thanks @Suchmo83 for this book. I used so much of your previous book when shaping the reading strategy for my trust. I can see I’ll be applying lots of the brilliant ideas from this book too.

Fancy another alternate reads poster? There’s a wealth of brilliant children’s books around memories and/or intergenerational relationships so instead of reading Grandpa’s Great Escape, here are some alternatives. Which other books would you include? @J_C_Pearson

Why read Billionaire Boy when there’s already a brilliant selection of children’s books out there exploring friendships? Here’s some of my favourites but which others would you suggest instead of Walliams’ book?

Why read Bad Dad when you have an incredible selection of high quality, exciting parent/carer & child adventures to enjoy? Here’s some I’ve particularly enjoyed but what else would you add? @mazevansauthor @J_C_Pearson @richardpickard

Irish is every culture Irish is every skin colour Irish is every religion
This guy is the most thick far-right on X🤣😂. Africans can be Irish. Muslims can be Irish. Indians can Irish. Jews can be Irish. All of the above can be Irish except if you're on about the skin colour. Welcome to 2025, where the caveman mentality makes you look stupid.
