This is precisely the challenge
Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi says if frontier models stopped advancing, it wouldn't matter for most orgs because enterprise AI is bottlenecked on context, not intelligence:
"There's no agentic work that's automated the whole enterprise. That has just not happened. Why is that? The real reason is the models are smart enough, but they just don't have the context that exists inside of any organization."
"They have not been in every meeting. They don't know what's in everybody's heads. They don't know all the processes. There's always a couple of employees who know everything in every organization. You go tap on their shoulder, and everybody's like, 'Oh my God, what would happen if he or she quits?'"
"If you just fused that and gave that context into the AI models, just the frontier today, I think there's so much productivity gains you could get for any organization on the planet."
"For that, we actually don't need smarter models... If the frontier doesn't advance, it doesn't actually matter for the vast majority of organizations on the planet. They're just so far behind in the adoption curve of actually automating things and getting value out of this stuff."

I find the reactions to HaloBraid interesting.
1. Just like a tailor using an electric sewing machine, a braider using a tool doesnโt strip out your cultural identity.
2. The existing division of labor for braids is that a more skilled person does the roots and an apprentice completes the ends, so the work division makes sense imo.
3. This is v1. Everything we use today has gone through a similar iteration. Itโs how we get dishwashers and self-driving cars and mobile phones.
Hardware is tough, but Iโm excited to see tech innovation around black hair, we deserve cool things too.
I wish Yinka all the best, and s/o to @sevensevensix for making the bet.

Anthropic's IPO was filed on October 26, 2026, and I value it's equity at about $1.475 trillion, which will inform my decision on whether to buy or sell its shares. To make your Anthropic choice, though, you should value it yourself, and I will provide a story and input structure to help you. bit.ly/3UTo3Gj

When you are live on an earnings call and the CEO or CFO pauses for five seconds before answering a question about accounts receivables, you feel something. You cannot explain it cleanly. You just know that pause meant something. Read the transcript two hours later and that pause is gone entirely. The transcript says he answered the question. It does not say he needed five seconds to decide how.
When you visit management in person and the receptionist has been there for twenty-two years, that tells you something. When the parking lot is full at 4pm on a Friday, that tells you something. When the CEO walks you through the factory floor and he has unscripted personal dialogue with the line workers with what looks like genuine respect rather than performed deference, that tells you something significant about how this place operates.
None of that is in the 10-K.

Early on I had a teacher that drilled this into me. Anyone can learn anything. Sometimes I disagree but itโs true for the most part. When I got my first job this was also the mindset all my interviewers had and it reflected in the questions asked and how interviews were organised.
Nearly a decade later and itโs a completely different world. Employers now want you to learn and know all there is before giving you an opportunity. Thereโs no โare you smart? Can you learn?โ
Itโs very much now โWhat is this thing? And why donโt you know it?โ
I keep asking myself when and why this shift happened? Itโs terribly demoralising

I hate the @MartinSLewis approach to financial life itโs thinking small saving tiny amounts - save a little money every week and youโll haveโฆnot much money, itโs a take no risk donโt invest approach to life, be timorous - I canโt stand it as it reflects a narrowness and is now what Britain is.
I am surrounded by friends who keep money in cash who are afraid - I see this behaviour as no better than buying huge amounts of groceries and then dumping them unused at the end of every week. The nationโs potential is going to waste.
Financial regulation adds to the problem: be afraid, risk, risk, donโt do it, you may lose money, past performance doesnโt guarantee future performance, stocks can go down. Where is the requirement to say to people: donโt open a bank account, inflation will destroy you?
The fundamental issue is that it confuses financial triage with wealth creation.
Martin Lewis acts as an ombudsman running damage control for households on the margins. But damage control is not an investment strategy, and you cannot coupon-clip your way to financial independence:
โข The upside of cutting back is hard-capped; the upside of growth is asymmetrical. The absolute most you can save is whatever you currently spend. By contrast, investing in productive assets and scaling earning power has no mathematical ceiling. Obsessing over a 0.2% edge on an easy-access cash ISA burns enormous mental bandwidth for trivial absolute returns.
โข It institutionalises a scarcity mindset. Spending three hours hunting a ยฃ25 cashback loophole trains people to view life through a lens of defensive survival rather than offensive acquisition. That energy is far better spent building high-value skills or understanding long-term equity compounding.
โข It reinforces a cultural allergy to risk. The UK personal finance mainstream remains attached to Premium Bonds, cash ISAs, and capital preservation over owning productive businesses. It is a posture of managed decline: avoid mistakes, don't stand out, mend and make do.
Penny-pinching can keep you from going broke, but it will never build financial freedom. Real upside requires risk and an open mindset.

I think the best way to send a cold email is described in this article: "The Art of Cold Emailing a Billionaire." It has been explained so simply, and it just makes so much sense intuitively that I just don't see a reason why it won't work. Check it out.
