Their actions bring me back to February 1, 1960, when four North Carolina A&T freshmen sat at a segregated Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro. Different circumstances, different generations, but a meaningful reminder of the place students hold in our country’s civic history.
North Carolina, your students have given us something to reflect on again.
I woke up yesterday morning prepared to go to work, walked outside, and discovered that my car had been stolen. Several of my neighbors were also affected. Cars were stolen, broken into, and damaged throughout our community.
My car was filled with school supplies, children’s camp activity bags, and materials intended for students attending our church’s Back-to-School Bonanza. The people who stole the car did not only steal from me—they stole resources meant to bless children and help families prepare for the upcoming school year.
Please, I am asking for the community’s help. If you see my vehicle or have any information about where it may be, please get in touch with the police and message me privately. Please do not approach anyone inside the vehicle. Even the smallest detail could help us recover the car and the supplies intended for our children.
Thank you Ms. Dyson and Coach Redd for all your hard work! Career Day was amazing!
