I wonder how many of those “permanent” members of staff aren’t even in the hospital outside the hours of 8-6.
Awful treatment by @BelfastTrust.
Rotating doctors don't get to choose where they work,
work long hours (including nights and weekends) and are often placed at hospitals 20, 30, 40 miles from their home.
Refusing to allow them to park on-site isn't just cruel, it's dangerous.
“…always wanted to work in the health service but not with the pressure of being a doctor or consultant”
For want of some research - and forward thinking - about NHS staffing, this has been a very expensive and ultimately fruitless project by the DOH.

Yes. ICM training needs a complete re-design. This is just one reason why. We spend a lot of time making anaesthesia & ICM good training specialties, then we throw our regs for a year to another specialty that does not even attempt to provide good training opps for their own.

Excellent presentation on maternal resus and critical care at #SOA24. Dr Cranfield generous in offering to share resources used in her labour ward and ICU. Will pass them on, @allieb0502
"We, as senior doctors, need to take more responsibility for how we ended up here" - Colin Melville on AAs/PAs. But numbers of doctors will still dwarf the number of AAs/PAs. And these roles will never reach the complexity expected of a senior clinician. #SOA24
“No other conference is going to give you two philosophers of consciousness before 11 in the morning.” I believe it! 😂 #soa24

Today we celebrate the professionalism and dedication of all doctors working across the UK.
Share your thoughts and pictures below. #NationalDoctorsDay
Insert ‘tale as old as time’ about high risk procedure wanted by pt.
Add anecdote about prolonged death in ICU albeit with pre-discussed limitations.
It’s all been done before. And will be done again. And discussed ad nauseam at M&Ms.
Doesn’t mean we stop talking about it tho.

Merry Christmas to all those working in the NHS today
Many staff in the NHS are grossly underpaid (even on Christmas day👇) but none more so than Junior Doctors who frequently graduate with >£100k debt
RT to support them & ask government to pay them ALL fairly #PayRestoration

How Matthew Perry wanted to be remembered. I think we can honour his wishes today.

Please remember, when proxy voting for #RCoAEGM, remember to vote FOR the resolutions, especially resolution 1.
The wording is slightly confusing, but voting FOR means you are AGAINST AA expansion.
Vote FOR @dannyjnwong's resolution.

Thanks so much to everyone who’s watching my first TV series #CardiacArrest on BBC4 and iPlayer. Season 2 airs tonight at 10pm. And thank you to all the brilliant cast and crew who did everything to elevate scripts by a lowly junior hospital doctor with zero writing experience.

The fabulous @LondonAllergy explaining allergy to us anaesthesiologists.
Did you know that many patients who developed an allergic reaction to teicoplanin were being given it because they were thought to be allergic to penicillin. 90% of patients labelled as penicillin allergic are actually not.

❗️THIS❗️from a respected Consultant.
Actually there IS a choice in all of this.
When Consultants say no, it stops. Simple.
Consultants can do as below and refuse to degrade UK medicine any further, and stand up for their trainees.
We all need seniors like these ones ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Fail to listen to concerns raised by Senior Medical staff, & you're setting up your NHS Trust to fail, sometimes with the loss of life from criminal activity.

I just think those hospital managers need to be accountable too.
The ones who did the “brush under the carpet” thing that we’ve all witnessed & become accustomed to, working in the NHS.
The ones who made healthcare professionals raising valid concerns, apologise to a murderer.
