Funny how easy it is for grief to quietly sneak into your daily life. I was washing my pan and the stain under it reminded me of that afternoon where my grandma spent hours scraping out stains and was proudly showcasing how clean the pots at home were.

I saw someone smoking under the tree and remembered the story my grandma told me. How she climbed up a tree and got stuck up there because her father was smoking under it and she knew he’d be upset with her if she showed herself.
