Such a pleasure to host Nikhil Nanda, @realnikhilnanda MD & Chairman of Escorts Kubota Limited turned around a debt ridden company that was paying 150 crores in interest payments to a thriving 40,000 Crore industrial giant. He comes from such heavyweight legacies on both sides, on one side he’s the grandson of Raj Kapoor and on the other side he’s the grandson of HP Nanda who started Escorts in 1944. This was such a rare interview opportunity because he never does interviews but purposely chose @theindiaopportunity to share his story and journey. So grateful for all these incredible opportunities! Episode is now live on YouTube - go check it out! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
It’s LAUNCH day!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🧿🧿 @theindiaopportunity
250,000 of you, 100+ conversations, mad 20+ hour days, 2 years of grind, the hard days, the good days, the “I can’t believe this is happening” days, the “I’m burnt out” days - all of this has led me here. It feels like a real high to have this book now out there for the world to see.
It’s almost never about the destination, it is the journey, the people I get to hang out with, and the internal expansion that follows both for me and our community ❤️🙏🏻🤗
If this book does well, I already have a second idea to write about 💡🤣🤣 Soon I’ll be onto the next one, cause I have a healthy detachment from outcomes - I just want to stay focused on the process of creation - it’s truly the joy of my life 🙏🏻❤️
But today we savour this day and celebrate. It’s a huge milestone and I’m grateful to everyone who’s enabled this - the guests, my production crew, post production crew, my team, my publisher, editors, and the 250,000 of you who watch & consume the content we get to create.
It’s not work when you’re having fun ❤️🎂🥳🙏🏻

In the US, senior living is a multi-billion-dollar industry, with a market penetration of 6–7%.
In India, that number is still just 1.5%.
And 15 years ago, when most people in India couldn't even imagine senior living becoming a serious business, a 23-year-old decided to build something in this space.
She personally handled the first 100 customer interactions and the first 100 sales of her company.
It took almost 7 years to sell her first senior living community in Dehradun.
Today, she has built Antara into a senior care business with residential communities, nearly 500 care beds, and a growing D2C business.
She’s none other than Tara Singh Vachani, Founder and Executive Chairperson of Antara Senior Care and Vice Chairperson of Max India.
Being the daughter of Analjit Singh, founder of the Max Group, she had access to resources, capital, and an established business legacy.
But she decided to take on a challenge that very few people in India even considered a business opportunity.
When she started Antara, senior living was largely associated with old age homes, and convincing people to move into such communities was extremely difficult.
The initial years were so challenging that she began questioning her own abilities, the market, and even the concept itself.
But she didn't give up.
In 2018, she decided to step back from the CEO role and bring in experienced leadership because she believed that building something meaningful was more important than holding on to a designation.
She went on to expand Antara into assisted care services and AGEasy, a senior care products business, with the vision of helping India's elderly population live independently and with dignity.
What I found particularly inspiring was her approach towards leadership.
Despite coming from an established business family, she openly acknowledges her privilege, talks about her failures, and believes that kindness should never be mistaken for weakness.
People often associate entrepreneurship with raising funds, scaling businesses quickly, and building valuations.
Well, she chose a different path, spending 15 years patiently building an industry that India had barely explored.
If there has to be an example of someone building not just a business, but an entirely new category with patience, courage, and compassion, it has to be her :)

Why Is It So Difficult to Beat the Stock Market Consistently?
“Everybody reads the same annual report. Everybody has access to Bloomberg terminals.”
EA Sundaram explains how hundreds of portfolio managers and thousands of highly qualified analysts compete with access to the same information, technology, and research.
In such a competitive market, can an individual investor really gain a consistent edge?

Why Multibaggers Don’t Matter as Much as You Think.
“I'm more concerned about the CAGR of the portfolio. That's what matters in the long run.”
Professor Sanjay Bakshi shares a powerful perspective on value investing, explaining why chasing multibaggers matters less than building a portfolio that delivers strong long-term returns.
For him, the real edge lies in business quality, strong management, and an already established moat.

He revived a watch from 1978 that had almost been forgotten.
He initially planned to manufacture just 10,000 pieces.
Within the first year, the demand reached 300,000 pieces.
That watch was the Tissot PRX, which went on to become one of the brand's biggest success stories.
He's none other than Sylvain Dolla, Global CEO of Tissot, one of the most iconic Swiss watch brands with a legacy of over 170 years.
Interestingly, he discovered the PRX design in the archives during his very first week as CEO and immediately decided to bring it back.
His team told him it would take a year to develop, but he pushed them to complete it in just 8 months.
And all of this happened when the world was increasingly moving towards smartwatches and digital wearables.
Today, India has become Tissot's 3rd largest market, with sales growing 6x in just 5 years.
What's even more interesting is that despite leading a global luxury watch brand, he has no ambition to make Tissot more expensive.
Instead, his vision is to make fine Swiss watches accessible to millions of people without compromising on quality.
He even says that if an opportunity to sell 100,000 additional watches could damage the brand's reputation, he would simply reject it.
People say that businesses must constantly chase new trends to stay relevant.
Well, he is someone who went back to a decades-old design, turned it into a massive success, and showed that sometimes the biggest innovation lies in your own history :)

The Real Wealth in Investing Is Made by Holding Your Winners.
“Roughly 10% of companies have created more than 10x returns, and 5% have created more than 20x returns.”
Shrikant Goyal explains why investors should think beyond 20–50% gains and how patience can lead to extraordinary returns.
A fascinating discussion on power-law investing and long-term wealth creation.

₹50 Crores to ₹7,000 Crores in Just 5 Years!
A company in the marine dredging business went from a ₹50 crore valuation in 2021 to ₹7,000 crores in 2026.
Shrikant Goyal shares this remarkable wealth creation story and how an SME company grew into a mainboard-listed business.

He has 15+ years of experience in capital markets, fundraising and investment banking.
He launched a Rs. 100 Crore fund focused on investing in Indian SMEs.
He has now come up with his second fund of Rs. 500 Crores.
He invested in a laptop refurbishment and e-waste recycling company at a valuation of Rs. 100 Crores, which reached Rs. 300 Crores in just 8 months.
He’s none other than @ShrikantG17158, Co-Founder of GetFive and Fund Manager at GetFive Funds, a SEBI-registered Category I AIF focused on investing in high-potential Indian SMEs.
An IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, he has previously worked with Tata Capital and IDBI Bank before building his own journey in the investment industry.
While most investors are chasing listing-day gains and quick multibaggers, he believes that real wealth creation happens when you identify a good business early and stay invested in its growth journey.
In fact, he prefers holding companies for a minimum of 3 years, allowing them to grow from SME platforms to the mainboard rather than exiting after making 2x or 3x returns.
He has even walked away from investment opportunities where the numbers and industry looked promising, simply because he wasn't convinced about the promoter's integrity.
People often associate stock market investing with buying and selling at the right time.
Well, he believes that sometimes the biggest returns come from doing nothing after making the right investment.
If there is one thing his journey teaches us, it is that successful investing is not just about identifying multibaggers, but also having the patience to let them become one :)

A friendly reminder:
“Time in the Market” Doesn’t Mean Staying Invested at Any Price.
“When markets are ridiculously overvalued, you shouldn’t be spending time there because money doesn’t grow on trees.”
Sanjoy Bhattacharya explains why knowing when to sell is just as important as knowing when to buy, because preserving capital gives you the ability to take advantage when real opportunities arrive.

He manages over Rs. 1,700 Crores of investors’ money today.
He spent 21 years at DSP Merrill Lynch, leading institutional research and analysing where institutional money should be invested in India.
He has now spent nearly four decades in the Indian stock markets.
He’s none other than JyotiVardhan Jaipuria, Founder & MD of Valentis Advisors.
His flagship small-cap portfolio has completed 10 years.
And despite managing money professionally, his portfolio churn is just 16%.
In fact, one of the first few stocks he bought when he started the fund 10 years ago is still in his portfolio today.
That investment has gone up more than 20X.
While most investors look for stocks that are already performing well, Jyoti follows almost the opposite philosophy.
He looks for companies that are underowned, undervalued and underperforming; where he believes an earnings inflection is yet to come.
His approach is simple:
Don’t think about where the stock will be 3 months from now.
Think about whether the company can double its earnings over the next 3 years.
And his research doesn’t stop at meeting the management.
His team speaks to dealers, distributors, competitors, suppliers and customers to build a 360-degree understanding of a business.
There have even been instances where a company’s earnings fell nearly 75%, but after understanding that the problem was temporary and not structural, he went back and bought more.
That is the kind of conviction that comes from research, patience and decades of experience.
And after spending almost four decades in the markets, one principle remains constant for him:
“The market is a slave to earnings.”
In a world where everyone wants to know what a stock will do tomorrow, JyotiVardhan Jaipuria has built his investing philosophy around what a business can become over the next 3–5 years.

Patience Is Still the Biggest Edge in Investing.
“Long-term investing is dead.” Milind strongly disagrees, especially when it comes to India’s growth journey.
From Trent to Titan, he explains how extraordinary returns were built over decades, not months, and why patience is what most investors ultimately lack.
Must watch clip 📌
When Demonetization Made Everyone Fear Titan, Milind Saw an Opportunity.
“Every time you bought jewellery worth more than ₹50,000, you already had to give your PAN card.”
While the market feared Tanishq would be hit badly, Milind looked at the business differently, bought Titan held the investment for nearly 7 years before exiting around ₹4,000.
A great lesson in looking beyond market panic and understanding the business on the ground.
