Working remotely has many downsides, including FOMO that your team is having fun without you

Think a big reason it’s hard to stay in flow is because I have to read the same, somewhat grating voice all day

Smart acquisition from Meta, I think there’s going to be an increased focus on developing meta-harnesses (compute + control plane) in the next 6 months
I am very excited to share that Conductor is joining Meta! We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface. If you liked Conductor, you’re gonna love what’s coming. We’re super excited to work with @natfriedman and @alexandr_wang at MSL to build it. They’ve been on an absolute tear, and I’m convinced MSL has the highest talent density of all the labs. A huge thank you to our earliest believers @aaron_epstein, @ilyasu, and @nabeel. And to everyone here who tried Conductor, sent us feedback, and prompt requests - you made this so much fun. Thank you ❤️🚂 Choo choo!

In-store operations are quite a bit more inefficient in SoHo than Flatiron

Haiku 5.5 is blazing fast and rarely misses a tool call, really great model to deploy for your classic chatbots

Good article! I think it’s important to view engineering and your career as a positive-sum game: help your coworkers (both technical and non-technical) build great products or services and be rewarded
Many software engineers are fatalistic about company politics.

Feeling particularly thankful for all the senior and staff engineers who mentored me when I was younger today

It's been a pleasure to trial Inspect over the last few weeks! Whether it's a bug fix, an infra issue, or building a new feature - it's incredibly freeing to just be able to @ Inspect from Slack and know it'll be resolved in minutes What can't the folks @tryramp build??

Sometimes you are lucky enough to pull up to the office right before your CTO orders from your favorite restaurant 🙏

Open models and RLaaS 📈📈📈
this is a great point. labs will become more hesitant to release models because of safety concerns and distillation. this will force them to compete directly with companies across finance, law, drug development, and many other verticals.

Did a fresh install of VS Code recently: it will not stop closing currently open files to prompt me to install random Copilot / other Microslop AI bs. Sad

Just genuinely enjoying life right now: crisp fall weather, working on some cool features, excited to see my teammates tomorrow 📈

Dots can hit a wall when running Codex threads because it doesn't highlight when the underlying thread runs into a permissions issue @thsottiaux any chance we can get a fix here :)?

Claude Code's compaction mechanism has gotten a lot better (along with the model getting better at long running work) Along with mods like "You Should Know" - I think CC is absolutely crushing right now

This UI is so nice

It's so sick that Codex is open source, highly recommend having Astra walk you through how rollouts and rollout trace works github.com/openai/codex/tree…
