I returned to my old youth soccer roots to talk to local parents about how they're keeping kids safe as federal immigration enforcement detains people -- including, in one case, three U.S. citizens -- across the street from Evanston parks and schools.
Check it out ⬇️⬇️

NEW: Buckeyes PAC, a pop-up super PAC that has spent $2 million on ads attacking Dem nominee Sherrod Brown, is bankrolled entirely by a dark money group with ties to Peter Thiel.
The Kansas City Star first reported Thiel’s donations to Per Aspera Policy in 2019: kansascity.com/news/politics…
Since then, the group has funded super PACs in Ohio’s 2022 Senate race and Virginia’s 2026 redistricting referendum.

The light green part of this graph is outside spending in Ohio U.S. Senate campaigns. In 2010, before Citizens United, it's barely visible. By 2012, it nearly matched candidate spending, $38 million to $43 million. By 2024, it was $309 million outside, to $141 million candidate.

New: A super PAC supporting Vivek Ramaswamy just reported $12.24 million in Q2 fundraising, with almost all of it from billionaires Elon Musk, Ratmir Timashev ($5m each), Bill Ackman, and Ross Stevens ($1m each).
It’s the first time any of them have donated to the super PAC.
They join fellow billionaire Jeff Yass, a strong proponent of school choice, as the main donors to the super PAC.
