ALT screenshot of the first paragraph of a book review: If you wanted to be cynical about it, you could trace the ways museums are responding to our complex world in two main politically ‘safe’ directions. One leans towards technology, with exhibitions that use AI or question the future. Another turns towards family questions...

"'I don't know how to do this,' I tell Ben, our son in my arms. A weight now. A squalling leviathan and he knows. He knows I'm failing him and it breaks me into a million tiny pieces."

"As with climate change, we have been tricked into thinking there are no alternatives, and that the economic systems we inhabit are natural... In fact the opposite is true."

So amazing that Liminal has created this fantastic resource. I couldn't get to the festival and I've only just started reading but already this is SUCH a treat
Earlier this year, we presented Liminal Festival in partnership with @wheelercentre. Now, we invite you to enter the space once more through responses + recordings. In creating this archive of gathering, we challenge the illusion that an event truly ends.

Hello creators, would anyone like to share a little anecdote with me for something I'm writing? I would love to hear your story of a time when doing something the hard way was advantageous. 1/4

"Every time I heard that click, I couldn’t help imagining that drawer in her chest. That compartment sliding out. Sometimes I pictured skin, other times it was slippery as liver." @sightlined mrbullbull.com/newbull/ficti…

Best thing on this trip to Sydney is discovering the new extension to the @sydneymetro project. And blow me down the first of the artworks that I see at one of the stations is my old bookselling buddy @callummorte’s wonderful “The Underneath”
There's this kids tv show where they just show how things are made. Toilets. Turbine engines. Ice cream cakes. I'm obsessed with it but today they did bookbinders and now I would like a new career ty
They just went to a jigsaw factory (there's a scrambling machine!) and now they're doing hockey sticks... maybe I just need to get a job as a researcher on this show???
