Being fat is a pain in the ass.
I used to be soft as f*ck myself.
Here are the top 5 things I learned cutting from 166 to 135 pounds (and counting)
1. Take your goal weight loss - and double it
Oh my god it’s happening

The thing about 24 that bothers me most is…
Who is this for?
It’s not because TV was begging for it. ESPN had to be convinced.
It’s not for a boatload of new cash. Losing conf champ games is gonna make this a minimal gain.
It’s not because the 22nd team has any shot at a natty. It doesn’t.
It’s certainly not done with the health, safety, or academic success of the players in mind since they don’t even get a say in this.
It’s entirely to appease the people donating the money that keeps a financially irresponsible business model afloat. It’s discounting success so schools can say “look what your donation bought.”
It’s an industry hellbent on treating investors and bosses as the customer, and customers as an infinite resource that will keep coming back no matter what.

I love having both broke friends and rich friends.
During the week I’m locked in and hanging / talking with the rich friends.
But after working 12 hours a day Mon-Fri… do I really want to be masterminding with my rich friends over the weekend?
Not really.
I want to go to an Irish Pub with cheap pitchers.
Hear my boys complain about their parlays not hitting.
Retell the same stories over and over again we’ve been saying for years.
Watch some sports.
And not think about work at all.
The differences between my broke friends and my rich friends...
My broke friends:
- Talk about celebrities, sports, Pokemon cards, and video games
- Tell me they're "super serious" about making money
- Get the exact steps from me, then question every single one
- Give themselves every excuse not to do the thing
- Drag every decision out until it dies
- Talk hypotheticals for 6 months while nothing gets done
My rich friends:
- Talk about the moves each guy should make next
- Make the move the same or next day
- Check if it worked, then decide the next one
- Challenge each other constantly
- Went to a 6 am workout: two guys doing $500k/mo each, and we talked about rolling our cash into one big equity play
- Already meeting the people involved, same day
Pick your group because the gap between broke and rich is time to action.
I started doing standard pushups and pullups again (with added weight) and I've never felt stronger in my life than I do now.
Sometimes, you gotta revisit the basics
Well said. EVERYONE bulking should give this a read.
Since Fall is bulking season, here's a lesson for you:
You will gain the same amount of muscle with a 200-300 surplus daily as you will with a 500 calorie surplus daily.
The main difference is with a 500 surplus, you'll gain much more fat at the same time.
But here's the thing... (I've made this mistake more than once)
If you're coming off a long cut and you're a legit 10-12% body fat (or lower), and you up your calories to 500 over maintenance, you will look amazing for a few weeks.
Your brain will be "tricked" into thinking you're gaining pure muscle because of this.
But it's not muscle. It's your glycogen stores replenishing, your workouts getting better from the extra calories/carbs, and your pumps becoming top tier.
The excess calories haven't yet manifested into body fat (it takes a bit of time for your body to "catch up" in that regard).
But off you go, hammering food daily, and within 2-3 months, you'll realize you're getting fat rapidly.
The BEST bulks are done as slowly as humanly possible. 1-2 pounds, on average, gained per week. Anything over that is going to be body fat. You will not gain over 2 pounds of muscle per month unless you're on PED's.
Odds are good you won't gain over 1 pound of muscle per month.
Bulking is a slow grind. It's not a quick blast. Forget the claims of gaining "10 pounds of muscle in 3 months", they're bullshit.
Maybe if you were 18 years old, had zero responsibilities, and could train for hours per day and get 9 hours of sleep, you could eek out a little bit more.
But that ain't you.
Do this smart, and then, come January, you won't need to cut 30 pounds of body fat off of you before the summer hits.
If you want to get an idea of your body fat % to see if you're ready to bulk, check out the app "Spren" (ios only).
It gives you an accurate idea of your body fat percentage, your resting heart rate, your HRV, and more just using your cell phone. Pretty cool stuff...
It’s a common talking point now (at least with those who I follow) that “you are fatter than you think” and “you are actually 23 percent body fat not 14”….
..And it’s common because it is EXACTLY the truth and so many dudes are still delusional about how fat they are

Marriage used to be the starting line of adulthood…
Now it’s treated like the finish line. “Your life is over.”
The expectation today is to spend your 20s and early 30s climbing the career ladder, renting the cool apartment, traveling the world, dating around, finding yourself, and checking every personal milestone before even thinking about getting married.
Marriage used to be the structure that helped people build a life together.
Now it’s seen as a reward you unlock only after you’ve already built one on your own.
And when you turn the starting point into the final achievement, fewer people ever reach it.
One of the many reasons why the marriage rate is down…
Insane cope. No one cares a flying f about the weight on the scale
Insane that this is 26 pounds
Throwback to a client banger.
Gary went from 194lbs -> 168lbs in 5 months.
Funny thing is he set PR's on his squats/deadlifts on the way down.
Legit training plans, dialling in execution with "just enough" volume while nailing nutrition is king.
Get this dialled in and you’re golden.
Love to see it.
