What a way to launch your new stadium? Though the date doesn’t look favorable because it’s when the winter break is ending and season resuming .

"Ugandans shouted, yet I had planned to bring development to Kampala. I now give up on City Square," said businessman Hassan Bulwadda. His statement comes after the Cabinet halted a contentious plan to redevelop Constitution Square into a commercial real estate complex, bringing an end to a high-stakes tug-of-war over Kampala’s premier green space and historic landmark. Mr. Bulwadda had sought to construct an eco-friendly complex featuring a high-end hotel, a shopping mall, and solar-powered amenities on the two-acre property. Was trying to draw my curtain going to look through the window I saw this on my hotel room verandah, got goosebumps. Been leaving my door open sometimes when chilling on balcony, now am thinking these may be under the bed, every time I enter the room. 😬😬. Do they bite?

“I would rather trust my village rainmaker than Uganda National Meteorological Authority [UNMA] projections. I think they are also projecting manually. They tell you rain is coming this time; you wait for rain zero. There’s a rainmaker in my village. I asked him to make rain in July because of the dry season, and he told me, if you are the headmaster during the holiday, can you ring the bell and children turn up?” Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa. #CroozeFMNews

Am here imagining getting out of the stadium, with the train terminal down there or in the basement and jump on it within 1 hr you in Kampala or mbarara or Tororo back home.
When I was giving updates on the construction of Hoima City Stadium, a number of questions kept coming up in the comments under my posts: “Why was the stadium built in a village?” “Does Hoima have enough football fans to fill the stadium?” “Can fans really travel to Hoima to watch football matches?” Well, the answer is in these photos. FYI, this is not the first time Hoima City Stadium has hosted a football game. The difference this time is that it was the first time the Uganda Cranes used the facility as their home ground for a continental football match. The turnout speaks for itself.
